I have never had to provide proof of purchase or even a purchase date for warranty claims. Do they go by activation Date? Costco currently has the Versa 2 for $89. Wondering about getting one for a backup down the line, but leaving it unopened till needed. Would it be warrantied?

@MarkMM The Fitbit warranty is from the purchase date, not the activation date. In addition, the Fitbit warranty only applies to purchases from Authorized Retailers. Costco isn't on the US list.

@LZeeW The list they post is likely paid advertisers. Costco and Sams club most certainly ARE authorized retailers. And there are a lot more Authorized retailers as well not on the posted short list. I've gotten 3 warranty replacements from Costco purchases already.
I've never had to provide proof of purchase. They only ask where I bought it. So I wondered if they went by activation date. Guess not huh?

@LZeeW You've been around long enough. There used to be a more complete list of authorized retailers which had over 50 retailers listed. It's outdated now and still has defunct Companies like HHGregg on it. Best thing for someone to do is check with support first, rather than go by the short list posted on the web page.
@LZeeW Thanks for the reply though. I believe you're right about the date part. I can't sit on an unopened Versa 2 until needed, and still have a Warranty.

Thanks for sharing your Warranty query @MarkMM and for your comments @LZeeW.
You can always check the Fitbit Limited Warranty.
Have a nice day.
