When shopping and pushing a cart my steps do not register.

I was shopping yesterday and went up and down most aisles and when I got back to my car I only had a few more steps than when I got to the store. I was pushing a cart the whole time. Is that because my arms were not swinging? Would hip movement register if the versa 2 was in my pocket?

You guessed correctly, @ssbc007 - When I push a cart, I put my Versa 2 in a side pocket or in my cross body purse. Much better step numbers that way but keep in mind that it will not find your heart rate there.

I also put mine in a crossbody purse but I’ve noticed that it’s registering a heart rate when it’s in my purse.  Sometimes it’s in the 180’s.  How can I get it to stop reading a non existent heart rate?

I don't really know but just wonder if it has to do with being next to your phone?

I did notice, this morning, that when I took it off to shower, the green light was off.  I’m wondering if it has to do with motion?  My phone was sitting next to it on the counter. I don’t know. It’s weird and frustrating. I want my steps but I don’t want my heart rate to falsely read 170! Lol!
