I'm not aware of any limitations but there are some posts where people have reported problems. If you have specific headphones in mind then it's worth doing a search to see if anyone has posted about them. Fitbit's guide to using headphones is at https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2257/

Welcome to the Fitbit Family @Tanyamh and @SteveH it's great to see you around.
Regarding your inquiry, you can connect any Bluetooth headphones to your Versa. If you want to pair yours, as recommended follow the instructions provided in the help article How do I connect Bluetooth audio devices to my Fitbit watch?.
Let us know if you need further assistance.

Not all Bluetooth headphones work with versa. My https://www.verizonwireless.com/products/jbl-under-armour-in-ear-sport-wireless-headphones/#sku=sku2... did not pair with it.

No not all will work AlejandraFitbit ! Many people are complaining... I've just spent £40 on mixx streambuds. I connected as described. They connect then one drops out almost immediately and the one still working is excruciatingly loud and the watch buttons will not control the volume.
A list of proven working makes would be greatly appreciated. As you understand, I'm very disappointed 😞

I have tried six different pairs of Bluetooth headphones and they all connect no problem. But to hear what’s going on my watch it Has to be between the headphones and no more than 8 inches from them so to run normal with my hand by my side I hear nothing. Trying to find appropriate headphones that won’t cost an arm and a leg any advice?

I have a medium expensive $100 pair of JBL Endurance Peak earbuds. They pair fine with the Versa 2, but the left ear drops out almost immediately. At first, I thought it was only Pandora. I tried it with Spotify as well and even downloaded music to test straight from the watch. All had the same issue. I unpair and paired a dozen times. Did a couple of factory resets on the earbuds. Nothing. I'm a little disappointed because I was looking forward to running without being paired with my phone, which works fine. I'm guessing the Bluetooth receiver on the Fitbit Versa is weak. I'll see if I can get a cheaper but good sound quality set of earbuds that will work.

Sorry to say but this is still an issue. I have beats headphones, which I guess are too quality when you say beats means a brand in its own for sound engineering. But Fitbit is still not able to connect that headphones. There are many other issue to connect headphones I tried with other brands but same. I hope this no one goes with this Fitbit. As I asked support team for help and they are helpless. Those people will just tell you what's on the website of fitbit FAQs where as I feel I Know more about it then them.. it's a worst choice ever made over other brands. Do not recommend this brand. Also you have any questions and do not trust me please Google you will find the same issue by many people.

I finally gave up on Fitbit and returned my watch. It's a nice watch, but the earbud Bluetooth connection problem was a dealbreaker. I got myself the Samsung Galaxy Active 2 smartwatch and it pairs beautifully. I'm not sure if anyone will find this post useful, but you should know it's not your earbuds and not spend the hours of troubleshooting I did to resolve the issue.

Airpods do not work. Lots of posts about this. Very, very, very frustrating. May need to return the fitbit.

this is not true. JBL earphones are not compatible with the versa 2

I just spoke to JBL about the exact same issue and they had a look into it and confirmed the endurance peak is not compatible with the versa 2, they also said other JBL models will likely have the same or similar issues.

That’s not true, I was told this morning that there are problems connecting to third party headphones and there is going to be no fixes!! So when out for a run you can listen to music making it that part of the watch useless!! So a total waste of time spending all that time loading music on the watch In the first place!! And the fact that no-one is going to fix this makes me rethink having this watch where others on the market pair to anything! Sort it out fitbit.

If you are not aware, why comment? There are literally hundreds if brands of earbuds that will NOT connect with Fitbit Versa 2. Some people just love their opinions. Well, your opinion is WRONG.

Sony xb700 doesn’t pair at all. Even Fitbit said ‘ at this time it is compatible but watch for updates to app’
