Which phone works better with Versa?

OK, so I was about to return the Versa a few days ago because of persistent connection-related issues, when I decided to try setting it up with my hubby's old Moto E4 as a last-ditch effort. It's working perfectly. However, the Moto E4 is not as good as my "real" phone, the Moto Z Play. I'm trying to decide if the watch is worth the sacrifice.

Does anyone have a recommendation on a phone that they love and is working perfectly with the Versa? I looked at the official Fitbit list of supported phones, and it looks like most of those are all old models that are out of date. My wishlist for the phone is that it's Android-based, new enough to be supported with updates, available unlocked (preferably direct from the company), and has an awesome camera.

Hey @FannyEubanks, it's great to see you around.

If you want to check which phones will work better with your Versa, I recommend checking our list of compatible mobile devices. In my opinion Samsung and iOS devices work fine with Fitbit.

Hi Alejandra,

Yes, that's the list I was referring to in my post. Most of those models are quite old, so I thought other users might have suggestions about current phones they're using with success. (For example, I was thinking maybe a Google Pixel, since it's on the list, but that one's no longer available since the Google Pixel 2 is the current model.

Thanks for your recommendations. I might like a Samsung, but again, the newest on the official Fitbit compatible list is the Samsung Galaxy S8 (the S9 is the current model). Anyone using a Galaxy S9 or Pixel 2 with the Versa, please chime in to let me know if it's working!

You are welcome @FannyEubanks, I hope you find a phone that meet your needs and at the same time one that works with your Fitbit. If you need anything else, do not hesitate to post it.

Will newer phones that people actually use be added to the compatibility list? It's 2018--it's wild to me that I have to buy a phone that's several generations old to use my fitbit.
