Well Fitbit has lost me as a customer.
I've had over the years, a tracker, a Versa 1 and a Versa 2 and both watches have failed just after the warranty period has expired.
I had my tracker for approx. three years and it worked very well for me so even with the high price tag (never paid more than 20-30 for a watch before) I was intrigued by the "smart" watches. I decided on a Versa and the first year it worked reasonable well. The first month out of warranty it started to act up but was still reasonably useful. Half a year later and the screen develops black dots making it useless. I thought to myself, "well maybe I banged it too hard or something".
Decide I'll get a new Versa 2 since they had just come out and there was an introductory offer of 50CN off at my local Source. This time I got an 2 year extended warranty as well. Watch worked fine except for a strange battery discharge problem which might of been due to me not syncing with my tablet often enough.
Bought the watch in Nov of 2019 and a week ago the button became unresponsive, Totally dead. Again a major issue just after the manufactures warranty had ended, what are the odds? Oh, while this isn't fitbit's fault I've just been told it needs to be sent away and will most likely be months till I get it back due to Covid-19.
In my family we have a saying "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me." When I finally get my watch back I'll use it till it finally fails, because that seems to be the pattern here. Then I'm going back my 30 dollar Timex that runs forever, even without a battery change. Your products are garbage now, and I won't be fooled a third time.

Hi @Gezzer you say that you purchased the extended warranty. I would check your email and documents.
This extended warranty is not handled by Fitbit, I believe it is handled by Square Trade.

Reading comprehension not your strong suit is it friend?
Edit: like everything else associated with Fitbit this forum is screwy. Replied to myself instead of who I wanted to. Please don't reply because I'm not looking for resolution. I don't trust Fitbit in any way to fix anything properly. This was exactly the rant it was meant to be and nothing more. Fitbit is a garbage company in my eyes and nothing will change that.

I will also not be buying again. I have had three Fitbit devices and the bands have broke on all of them. However, recently, my newest device (Charge 4) completely broke when the piece that connects to the band is coming completely disconnected from the device itself. I have reached out countless times to Fitbit and they just tell me my warranty is expired (only by a few months). For being such a loyal customer since 2015 and owning three devices myself and also gifting devices to family, this is completely unacceptable. I have never experienced such poor customer service. Every time I reach out, the representatives I chat with, end the chat with me. They don't care why you are there talking to them and they are extremely rude. I would never recommend anyone buying a Fitbit after this. I have been a customer since 2015 and have never had a device have a piece break off. Completely unacceptable. They make cheap products so they will break right after the warranty is up. I have read posts by so many other people that this has happened to.

I'm on the same page as the rest, with one exception...I may give Fitbit another chance, if they offer me a reasonable discount on a replacement for my Versa 2. Like others, my device quit working properly approximately two months after the warranty expired. I find this amazing. Is this the quality you get for the price. I can purchase a smart watch for half of the price, that gets excellent reviews. My Versa 2 was a birthday gift from my older son, and he feels awful about what has happened. So, Fitbit, if you see this, make it right.

I am also an EX customer after being a customer since 2018. At least 3 of my devices have just "died" in those 4 years! Until now I've been "lucky" enough for it to have happened within the warranty period, so have been sent a new Fitbit. However, the last replacement switched itself off after a month and, as it is only "warranted for the remainder of the original Warranty", I'm not eligible for another replacement. I have been offered a discount on a new device, but no way am I paying for something that is not built to last longer than a year!!!

Sadly, those replacement devices aren't even new. They're refurbished, and they suck too.

I hadn't realised that, but that'll explain why they don't last.

Generally I find remanufactured units as good as the new ones.
I also have fitbits, now given to family members that are 3-4 years old.

Then I must've been extremely unlucky since I've had 3 and none has lasted for over a year! Or perhaps you've been lucky given the number of people on here with a similar experience to mine! Either way, I'm giving up on Fitbit!

I myself have had numerous fitbits. I think my first was a charge. I now have the Versa 2. I bought it for myself for my Christmas present in 2022. Problems arouse and fitbit sent me a new one. Well the estimated oxygen variation screwed up and I am led to believe it was because of a bad update. I have since uninstalled, reinstalled the program on my mobile, PC and even rebooted my versa 2 and still the charts are all over the place. others have said how theirs are running back to how it was before the bad update but mine is still wonky. I am researching which other watch I am going to purchase. As you said, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I take it as a sign to move on. Shame too because I was used to fitbit. Now it will be something else. Sick of spending money on something that won't work
