Why is the distance so inaccurate on Versa2

Just completed my regular 10.5k walk and fitbit Versa 2 has recorded 3.29k.  Why is this device so inaccurate?

I'm no expert but I would first check to make sure your stride length isn't set on manual and your stride length is inaccurate.

 

Stride length can be found in Account, Advanced Settings then Stride Length.
