Just bought my versatile and it's already counting steps and calories before I put it on. How do I reset and start at ZERO?

@JB822 Welcome to Fitbit! I can explain the calories.
As well as tracking calories burned through activity your fitbit also tracks your BMR calories. These are the calories you burn just keeping your body alive (even when asleep). They are calculated from your profile settings for age, height, weight etc so you needn't be wearing your fitbit to get them. What you are seeing includes the total BMR calories burned since the count reset at midnight.
How many steps are we talking about? I might expect a few from random movement during the setup but would be concerned if you were seeing thousands.
Unfortunately, there's no way to reset stats other than by the automatic reset at midnight each day.

@JB822 I don't see a need to subtract calories. You will continue to burn BMR calories throughout the day as well as overnight. Anyway, why subtract them - you do really burn those calories so why not include them in the total, especially if you are using your fitbit to manage weight.
