Why, this afternoon (GMT) did my Versa Lite change order of outputs?

I've had this Versa Life for years. Whilst clocking up hourly 250 steps I could display total daily steps and steps this hour on the same screen. In the last couple of hours, somebody has taken it upon himself/herself to reorder my outputs from the order I can select them on set-up, which is daily steps then hourly steps, and pushed the latter way down the page.

I've tried deleting all the other options (now appearing between the two). This does indeed give me what I want and need particularly in the last couple of my daily hours. But then when I reapply the other outputs (that I do want, just not between daily steps and steps this hour.

Why? Just why? Who thought this stupid idea was worth forcing on us? Really?

Try tapping the settings. 

Then hold your finger on the 3 bars to the left of the stat. After you feel the vibration move the stat to where you want.

Went into Settings. None of the stats showed three bars. Tried scrolling the stay lost left and right. Nothing happened. Pressed and held the stat for fifteen seconds. Nothing happened. Went to Fitbit app on phone. Selecting Edit allowed me to drag outputs into a new order. Resynced phone. No change.
