Versa 2 Alexa and spoify are usless features if watch does not have the ability to connect to Wi-Fi..
Fitbit app is required on phone to be open and connected via bluetooth..
What's the point if I have to have my phone with me at all times to use Alexa and spotify?
I could just use Alexa and spoify on my phone.
Having watch connect directly to Wi-Fi is kinda the most important fix that's needed.

I like that @The5thSunday you have only one post and it is well....
The thread is about having the WiFi on the tracker turned on all the time.
I'm asking what would be the advantage of this?
At best a user could hook up to WiFi at home and maybe at work. The rest of the time, without the tracker having a keyboard a user will not be able to connect to the random widows they encounter throughout the day.

Sorry my Rich_Laue I wasn't directing that at you I was directing it at THINKER1 typing:
"Don't post stuff you don't actually understand."
Isn't questions that you don't understand about your device is what threads are for?

@The5thSunday why not read the community guidelines (Link found on every page) and then properly tag a user when addressing them.

@Mikejvir time has nothing to do with WiFi as explained in the Fitbit help docs. Link to help may be found below or through the Fitbit app.

@Thinker1, thank you for posing an obvious concern. Like you, I did not sit down and read the entire manual, before using my "smart" watch. I thought that it was obvious that, if fitbit bothered to put wifi in the thing they'd use it for wifi things like streaming music, Alexa, and the weather app. I would love for fitbit to add support for this; they could even add a toggle to disable it for more battery conscious users. The argument that you don't have wifi everywhere is invalid; that is a common issue with a number of wifi only devices, all it would need to do is return a no connection available message (just like it currently does, if your phone isn't nearby). They could also add the ability to connect to wifi sources directly from the watch, instead of using the app. I didn't do a lot of research before I bought this thing (which is highly unusual for me), and now I am seriously disappointed at the obvious misses on fitbit's part. You are not alone in your concerns, as I have found numerous articles that also lament the lack of functionality and obvious lack of concern in addressing customer frustrations. I am seriously considering returning my watch, before my return period closes.
