WiFi keeps disconnecting on Versa 2

So every time I leave my house my watch disconnects from WiFi. This is totally fine. But once I re-enter my house, is the watch supposed to pick up my WiFi signal and reconnect? I tend to use Alexa the most when I’m home and need to set timers while I’m cooking. For a couple days in a row now I’ve tried to use Alexa to do this but my watch keeps saying that I need to sync with the app for the connection or something like that or have it running in the background- I have it running and already synced. Is there something I’m missing or is this just a glitch? I absolutely love my Versa 2 and want to get the most out of it. Please help!

The WiFi on your Versa 2 is only used for FW/app updates and to transfer music to the device. As this is the only use for WiFi, it is only activated when you put you device on to charge (checks for app updates). All syncing, notifications and communication with Alexa is done via the Bluetooth connection. I agree with @Den_in_USA in thinking that the issue you are having is Bluetooth related or depending on your phone it my be killing background processes.

It would be helpful if you could post some more information about your set-up (which phone you are using). Also have you made sure that the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version?

Just to clarify, I always have my Fitbit app running and have it set on my phone to allow it to run in the background.

Your problem with Alexa has nothing to do with WiFi. Also, syncing has nothing to do with the operation of Alexa. I sounds like you are not allowing the Alexa app that is installed your phone to keep running in the background. Or, possibly, your watch gets too far away from your phone, which is a bluetooth signal problem.

I have an older iPhone 6. This version cannot be updated the the IOS 13. And I also have made sure that my fit bit app is updated. The issue has started becoming worse, even when my phone is right next to me with the Fitbit app open. My clock face which is a paid clock face that tells me the weather is even having a hard time updating and is constantly telling me that it is refreshing the wether and to ensure my Fitbit app Ian running- even when it is. I made sure my amazon Alexa’s app and my Fitbit app have Bluetooth on and background app refresh. What am I missing? I’m sure it’s something super simple right in front of me.

I am having same issue.  Tells me to set up Alexa each day but my Fitbit app says I’m logged in and connected.  This is with my phone and app (open) sitting next to the watch.

The issue continues to happen. I just stopped using Alexa as much to be honest. I got a new Alexa for my kitchen so I just use her the most.

For weeks, I just kept starting over with the set up procedure. Turned Bluetooth off, uninstalled Versa followed set up from scratch. Went through my whole phone settings making sure that all permissions were turned on. My phone is not on the list of compatible phones, but I was determined not to buy another for the sake of this. Eventually it just started working but I cant say exactly which action helped (sorry). My wifi is pretty poor, and although sometimes very slow, its all working fine now. I also had the app on my Ipad, but it could not cope with being there and my phone. It was a very frustrating time! Srry I cant be of more help.

Thank you so much for replying to me. It’s much appreciated! I guess I will just keep faffing about with it and it will start to behave! 😂

I have to say, that after a lot of very frustrating time when I got it, once I managed to get it all working, it works very well. Occasionally the Bluetooth drops (I turn off and on again on phone and it fixes), but TBH the Nokia phone I use isn’t on the list of compatibles..just took a lot of changing preferences etc on my phone. Did not have a problem with the clock face. My WiFi signal is really poor too.....but I did persevere and happy with it now. BUT was extremely frustrating to begin with, nearly hurled it out the window!
