When charging the WiFi gets turned on, it eats battery power. you apps and any music will be updated.

@Pastorleslie The wifi will be off all the time unless needed, for updating and transferring music and such. Versa will not sync over wifi. You can set up an additional wifi connection in the app by tapping on your device in the upper right corner, then tapping on wifi settings. But the wifi on your Versa will only be on when needed.

Tap on your Versa in the upper right hand corner does NOTHING.  How do you turn wifi on for your Versa?  Not really my whole question.  I'm sitting in front of a PC with the VERSA app installed, and it can't see my Versa.  Supposedly I once found the very well hidden setting for wifi and enabled it, but doesn't seem to do any good.  Is the PC app able to do anything helpful at all?

Hello @pbug56 which PC app are you referring to? The win 10 or the Fitbit Connect.

The web browser cache is not going to help you.

You should be able to set up more than one wifi.

As for Wifi the Versa will only turn on it's wifi when the versa is charging..

As for setting up the wifi, let's go to the h r love docs. The wifi settings will be found under set a ings, Versa, Wifi

I am completely baffled by what you said. HR? Human Resource?

I'm trying to make my Versa usable. I've had to turn off almost all
synching because it kills my phone. I'd like the Versa to use wifi to get
data it needs for weather information, etc. I'd also like to sync my Versa
to my 2 PC's with the Versa app. Doesn't seem possible; the app doesn't
seem to be able to do anything. Same with logging in online. Only the
phone. I figured that to connect to a laptop with Bluetooth that you would
use BT. Clearly not the case. Versa only senses about half the time I'm
asleep (hard asleep, barely waking up after a while to an alarm sleep).
While very cute, and able to show me my pulse, it doesn't seem to do much
of anything well, especially without heating up my phone and killing the
battery. Plus, of course, the SPO2 sensor doesn't work and there is no way
to know if it ever will.

Are we just the butt of an expensive joke? I've been in IT (programmer,
DBA, etc.) for 40 years - I've never seen anything quite like this.

The Versa well not use Wifi to get the weather update, the versa will not stand your data to the Fitbit server through the wifi.

Both weather and syncing will use the Bluetooth and the Versa needs to be able to connect to either the phone or the computers bluetooth.

It will connect to wifi, only while the Versa is being charged. During this time the versa will check for appan updates and update the users music subscription.

Not knowing where the be HR is being referenced or who is being responded to, @pbug56 my guess is that HR refers to Heart Rate.

So how do you connect the Versa to one or more PC's?

By downloading the app and installing it on each PC.

Please be aware that the tracker only needs to sync once through one device, for the data to be visable from every or any computer, phone, tablet, etc

I have the app on 2 PC's - cannot sync on either one, though I could at one
point. Does sync on demand only on my android phone. FYI, if I enabled
normal sync options, my phone gets very hot and runs down the battery;
Fitbit tech support helped me deal with that, but I'd like to be able to
use the app on my PC. Both PC's do have Bluetooth.

Hello @pbug56 both PC's will need Bluetooth Low Energy, a Fitbit tracker will only sync it's data through BTLE, so do not worry about WiFi for now.

I'm going to assume that the Fitbit Versa is connected to your account .Ie setup already. And there is no reason to do a setup again since the Fitbit server knows which tracker.

You will need to download the proper software for the computer, the easiest way to do this is by going to http://www.fitbit.com/setup through the we browser on the computer that you want to setup. It will eaither be Fitbit Connect on a MAC or a Windows App on a Win 10 computer. If your computer is running a Windows that is not Win 10, you will need a Fitbit dongle.

After downloading the software/app let's install and open. With the app one would log in and it should sync.

If connect hasn't changed you will not have to log in.

Make sure that the phones BT is off so that there will not possibly be a BT conflict.

Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Try these troubleshooting steps if your device is not syncing.
Please let us know of any error messages.
Please note that the instructions do not as the user to pair the tracker through the computers BT settings like you would pair a Bluetooth speaker.

Just did a test of the PC fitbit app - only way it is in synch is if I
synch the versa with my phone. Try to do it on the PC itself says tracker
not found. Also, the weight I put in on the Android app is not reflected
in the PC app. Yes, I'm logged in.

As to Bluetooth on the pc, it is several years old, not low power. The
phone is an S8+ so I'm sure it qualifies - and it works fine. So that
answers one question - the other PC is also older Bluetooth.

I'd love to find synch settings for the phone that would be better than
manual but not drain and heat the phone, but yes, I can sync manually when
I need to.

Thanks1

The Versa will not sync to FitBit.com over Wi-Fi? Even when plugged in for charging?!

That is the main benefit of having Wi-Fi, and extremely poor advertising to mention it as a feature if it is not enabled.

The Versa is not suppose to sync through Wifi, it only since through Bluetooth. That is if we are referring to the wifi on the Versa.

The main benifets is to speed up the transfer of music and firmware.

The wifi can be used for updating the firmware, installing apps, updating apps, along with transferring music.
