Wifi won't stay connected?

Does wifi need to stay connected?   I receive notifications on my versa when I get a call, or text.

I have to constantly reconnect wifi (via phone app). When phone app says wifi connected, versa still says not connected.  I have frequently gone over my data since getting my Versa..... would my Versa be the culprit?

Hi, it is important to know that the Versa has no WiFi on it's own, but uses the WiFi of you phone or PC to make the connection. In order to stay connected with WiFi, either your phone should be connected to your PC with the display on all the time or your Versa must be in the Charger and connected to your PC. In this last case, make sure that, when the phone is not connected, the display should be on as long as you need your Versa to be and stay connected to WiFi. On your phone, go to the Fitbit app and WiFi settings. Press that and you should see your network's name. Whenever you have entered the password of your router, you should see on the right side of this name a greyed WiFi icon. Press that and Fitbit will startte connection. Once this is established the icon turns to blue and says "connected". Hope this helps.

Hi, in order to explain further why the steps mentioned in my earlier posts, I have done the following:

1. Went to the settings on my Versa, pressed it and scrolled down to WiFi, which was off of course

2. Went to my phone's Fitbit app and Wifi Settings, pressed it and pressed the icon right next to the name of my network. Fitbit started connecting to my network. Once established, the icon turned to blue and told me it was connected.

3. Went back to my Versa and the WiFi showed the IP Address of my network, so both were connected without being connected to PC or being in the charger.

4. Two minutes after my phone went into the standby modus, the Versa lost immediately the WiFi connection.

All in all this means that when you want your phone and Versa to be and stay connected by WiFi for the time you need it to stay connected, f.i. to transfer music or whatever, you have to increase the standby time of your phone so the display stays on all that time and you do not need to connect none of your devices (Phone and Versa) to PC/Laptop.

Hope this makes it even more clear.

Your Versa does have wifi but will only be turned on while it is charging.

At this time the apps on the Versa will have any updates installed and any music. Firmeare update may also be installed through wifi when plugged in. Taking the tracker of it's charger will turn off WiFi.
