Wildly inaccurate distance measurement when connected to GPS

I took a run today using only my Fitbit Versa with my phone - the Fitbit measured my run at 5.17 miles with connected GPS (which looks like it's tracking the right path) and an 8'25" pace (which seems FRIGGIN INSANE for me).

Screen Shot 2018-06-26 at 2.10.29 PM.pngBased on the fact that is said I was sprinting the whole thing, I decided to double check the distance... the MapMyRun and Strava route planners BOTH have the distance at 4.16 miles. What on earth is happening with my Versa? I can understand my stride length being off (I walk in significantly longer strides than I run) but shouldn't the GPS, which can measure actual distance, fix that? How do I make it so that this is even close to accurate? It's a bummer to find out that you ran a WHOLE MILE less than you thought you did. Screen Shot 2018-06-26 at 2.10.41 PM.png

@LuckyLu27 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! Sorry to hear that your distance isn't showing correctly on your apps. So the data is correct on your Fitbit account right? But shows a mile shorter on your MMR and Strava? Do you know if your app is properly syncing with both apps? Do they show as link on your Fitbit account? Try removing them and relinking them to see if the data gets transferred again with the correct information. If this isn't the issue then please provide as many details as you can about this.

Let me know how it goes!

Hello there - the data is incorrect across my Fitbit account as well as on the Versa (both show 5.17 miles run). For the run yesterday, I didn't double-track; I used only my Versa. In the past, I have both used my Fitbit and also turned on my Strava app on my phone. In that case, my Versa showed 4.3 miles while Strava showed 4.1 (I think that's an acceptable amount of variation).

It seems as though the Versa, even when connected to GPS, is at least a little (and sometimes a lot) off on distance measurements.
