Will Alexa and GPS be available without having your phone?

Will the Versa 2 offer either of these feature without being connected to your phone?  I understand GPS, but the Alexa only accessible when your app is open seems useless.  Why not just use the alexa app...

@alexjord4n It's nice to see you on the Community. Sorry for the delayed reply.

Thanks for your question, I'll be happy to clarify it.

In order to use connected GPS and Alexa, you will need to have your phone nearby. I would like you to double check these articles to learn more about these features: How do I use Alexa on my Fitbit Versa 2? and How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

I understand you need the phone for GPS, but why do I have to open the app
on my phone for Alexa? Is there an update coming (please) where Alexa works
when Fitbit is connected to WIFI? That seem like an elementary feature.

@alexjord4n Thanks for getting back.

Because Alexa uses a Bluetooth connection with your phone, your Versa 2 and phone need to be in range in order to process your voice request. Learn more about it by checking this article: Versa 2 with Amazon Alexa Built-in .
