YouTube Music won't play on my Versa 3

I've only had my Fitbit Versa 3 for 2 weeks and in this short time, I have not once seen my music or music controls appear on the watch. I use YouTube Music to play music from my phone, and I always have it connected to my wifi or a store's wifi. What I understand "should" happen is that, as my phone is connected to wifi, and once I begin playing my YouTube Music from my phone, music controls are supposed to appear. So, I have gone through all the steps given to play my music on the watch, and still the music controls never appears. So, you say the music "should" appear on the watch when I play music from my phone, but the reality is that it doesn't, and never has. Please, tell me how I'm supposed to get music controls to appear on my Versa 3 when all steps fail to work.

Hi there, @MrsSmith_2013. Thanks for stopping by in the Community Forums and trying to troubleshoot the inconvenience with your Versa 3. I understand where your concern is coming from.

Please note on Versa 3 you can only play music with Pandora, Deezer, and Spotify. For more information, see How do I listen to music and podcasts on my Fitbit watch?

@MrsSmith_2013 Try adding music controls to a short cut. I like to have mine on the "long press" short cut. To add it, follow these steps:

  • Swipe left on your Versa 3 to get to Settings
  • Scroll down to Shortcuts
  • Make sure Press & Hold is toggled ON
  • Select shortcut should be set to Music

Now, if you press and hold the "button" on the left side of your Versa 3, music controls will come up anytime you want it to, even during an exercise. I don't use Youtube Music, but I can pause and start over a Youtube video using music controls -- you'll have to see if it will cycle through songs if you press the forward or backward button. Hopefully this is helpful for you.
