@gillesC but is GPS actually connected? Is the map getting recorded? Open Fitbit mobile app, go to exercise tile and check if you can see the map there and if the route is correct.

Are you using the auto bike detect or manually starting the bike recording from the wrist?

Best Answer

GPS should be connected. But I don't know how to do what you suggest. When I open the Fitbit app on my phone, I have to tap on "Versa" to view the apps and when I tap"Apps" and then on "exercise", it does not show me map and route. Actually there is nothing I can do when I am on "exercise" except "uninstall". I wish the fitbit app would be friendlier

Manually starting the bike exercise from the wrist. I don't know how to find the "auto bike detect" option.

The auto bike detection is when the users hope on the bicycle and rides off. They do not do anything to the tracker and let's Fitbit decide that a bike ride has occurred. This does not use GPS so no distance or speed will be recorded.

When starting the bike recording from the wrist do you wait for the Versa to show that it has gained a GPS lock with the phone?

Best Answer

Yes I wait but it never connects. The Versa keeps displaying connecting.... and never connects, even though the phone is less than one foot away with bluetooth on

Not knowing what type of phone, I can only speak from Android.

Do you receive notifications?

Is allways connected enabled?

Are you able to see real time data on the Fitbit app?

Have you tried a phone and Versa restart?

I have given up hope of ever getting Connected GPS working. Had watch over 6 months now.

It used to partially work, you know, recording 1 mile for a 14 mile ride (!) but now, nothing.

Never connects.

Android 8. Sony Xperia X. Versa up to date firmware.

And the Android app has been updated a number of times recently as well.

General Android (and Win10) connectivity via Bluetooth is awful. I can't vouch for other Apple users but my wife has a Charge 3 that seems to work ok (connected GPS) with her iPhone. I won't link my Versa with it as I don't want to break her connectivity!
