calorie estimates seem really high

Just getting to the end of my first full day with the versa and it seems mostly great. However it seems to me that the calorie estimates in the exercise programs must be off. the baseline looked reasonable before I went to the gym, but after working out and tracking treadmill, weights, bike and exercise as I did my workout. This caused my total to jump way more than it should have, to the point where I'm at nearly 5000 for the day, I'd beleive a little over 3k but not 5k. Is there any reason the tracking might be so high?

I've got an Aria as well so in theory fitbit should have all the data it needs.

Same thought here. Definitely incorrect calorie counts. I also think steps are off too

After waking up and not wearing my versa while sleeping the calorie count was 404.  Where did that come from?

that sounds normal to me. Even without a tracker fitbit will estimate calories burned throughout the day anyway. Most likely it's based on your BMR, 404 sounds pretty reasonable for a night of sleep.

I feel that all counts are off on versa new Fitbit OS2. I was mostly driving this I woke up this morning for 9+ hours and Versa reports that I did 14 floors and burned 2828 calories.

Floors = 14

Steps = 3261

Distance = 1.2 miles

Energy = 2850 Calories

Active = 15 mins.

Anyone else having issues with the displayed metrics?!

My calories are randomly waaaaay off. They look normal, and then when I sync, it jumps up 2k - 2.5kish more... never had this problem with my Blaze.

Hoping this gets fixed. Been tracking my calories lately, and it’s driving me crazy when it does this.

Anyone else have a ridiculous calorie spike when syncing? About 1/4 of the time, when I sync my Versa at night, it will almost double my calorie count for the day. Super annoying.

Same! My calorie burning is estimating about 3000/day.. I have a sedentary job.. I go for walks on lunch and do workout every other night but I find it hard to believe it’s 3000 a day.. also my steps are off... in my car, it generally adds an additional 30-50 steps per drive: it’s super annoying and as much as I love the versa, I may have to return it 😞

Yep. I'm climbing floors as we speak, and my steps are going up and up...even when I sleep, drive or eat ice cream!

At this rate I'll be able to eat 3 pizza's a day and still lose weight!

Thank you all for your responses. Much appreciated.

Good to know that it’s not just me. I wouldn’t have surprised if I was trying a new fitness app/newbie in the market. It’s pretty disappointing to see a well-known company like  Fitbit not getting it right on their high end devices priced at $200 - $300. Fitbit Alta does a better job with calorie/activity monitoring to Versa/Ionic. On top of it every other day it keeps failing with the Bluetooth Sync.i have several users complaining about it too, and Fitbit Customer Service not providing any useful support.

Hope they release bug fixes soon, otherwise it’s going back on eBay since I already missed the return policy deadline:(

I train every day, mostly weights and sometimes football.

My blaze tracked calories burnt and my heart rate accurately, suddenly I'm doing my usual 1 hour of weights session and instead of being between 250 and 375 calories depending on what I'm doing of course I'm suddenly averaging 700 for 1 hour of weight lifting including breaks!

this is craziness and highly frustrating!

can a fitbit rep please confirm what the issue is as I'd rather go back to my blaze and return my versa

thank you

Same thing. I'm a (relatively) small woman in my late 30's and have a desk job. On a day that I don't work out, I walk 15 minutes to and from the station, and the rest of the time is in front of a computer. I would love to burn 2245 calories on my lazier days, but it seems unlikely. I'd be skinnier if that was the case!

The day I did walk for an hour and gentle jog for half an hour I clocked 2873 calories. Also unlikely. Maybe my versa thinks I'm a man!

I've just made the big jump from a simple clip on pedometer/tracker to thethe be, whistles and heart rate Versa. I don't want to have to give it back!
