cannot connect to iPhone although was working fine few days ago

I had trouble connecting my fitbit versa lite to my iPhone although it had been working fine few days ago. Followed the instruction accordingly but still not working. even deleted the apps and download again. Log out and log in again. went to the extend of restoring to factory setting but now the message said 'Data not cleared. Sync and try again. The PROBLEM is it DOES NOT SYNC in the first place. Really feel like throwing the watch away as it is really frustrating.
