counting floors (stairs)

I have a short flight in my house - about 6 steps.  I've been up and down at least 8 times today. Nothing. The other day it logged 3 floors.

Friday I was at a very big school campus and climbed and descended 3 large staircases, and Versa did not log any of it. I know Versa was working because it logged my steps (large number of steps that day.)

Fitbit are quite fussy when it comes to tracking floors.

You only get floors tracked when going up, not when coming down. It should track a floor if it detects that you have gained 10 feet in height - but only if you don't pause while going up.

You also get floors tracked if you go up 10 feet when walking up a slope - it doesn't have to be on stairs.

So, it sounds like your stairs at home may not be high enough to count but it's hard to explain your other readings unless you were pausing when going up.

Can you explain why it has recorded that I had walked up 5 flights of stairs when I haven't left the sofa all day due to being I'll.

My Versa was acting up as well; however, instead of under-counting stairs, it was over-counting stairs. My Charge 2 was always very accurate with floors (stairs), and I knew what amount to expect on my daily jogging/walking path. The Charge 2 would accurately log about 6 floors traveled on my daily walking path. When I got the Versa, on that same path, it would log 112 stairs one day, 54 the next day, 2 the next day, 87 the next day, 234 the next day. It was crazy.
I had so many problems with my Versa that I unfortunately had to return it after about 40 days of consistent use. It makes me sad because the Versa is absolutely beautiful. I hope that Fitbit works these kinks out because I would love to purchase another one. As for now, I am back to wearing my old Charge 2 because it is insanely accurate.

I have the versa.

This morning I got up at 6am had a shower wearing the watch and went back to bed as an also sick.

Later today around 11am synced my versa to my iPhone 8 and it is telling me I have gone up 6 floors!

I'm lucky if I can make it to the kitchen.

Could my hand movements washing my hair and body have confused it?

I have had a Fitbit 1 for years and it has always been pretty reliable counting my excursions upstairs at home and elsewhere.  Now I have just purchased a new Versa (regular, not the "lite" version) and it has only recorded 1 of about 5 trips upstairs today.  Why is the Versa less reliable than the old Fitbit 1?
