does step count directly impact tracked calories burned?

i have a versa 2 and was wondering if the number of tracked steps can inflate the amount of calories out

asking because my job as a cashier (obviously) involves scanning products which my watch counts as steps, so is this inflating the calculated calorie output? or does it only go off of heart rate?

thanks in advance

Calorie burn is not affected by step count; it is based on heart rate as you suspected.  However, it you want to avoid fake steps from scanning, you might try switching watch to other wrist while at work, but, no, it will not affect calorie burn.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
