exercise minutes into active minutes

Hi everyone!

I think i saw someone posted this. but the answer wasn't clear to me at all.

So i would exercise and i would hit the 'exercise' button and go to 'workout' and press start. My issue is for example i would work out for 47 minutes but it would say only 12 minutes would go towards my active minutes. but the calories i burned and such is added towards the total calories burnt for the day. WHY? I've read many post and the answers does not help me understand why the watch doesn't detect it or goes towards the total active minutes. For example if i was doing exercise for leg/abs and my arms aren't moving because the exercise does not require to move my hand/arm for the 2 minutes. does it not count?

since ive been in quarantine and now that it's summer, ive had also been going on daily walks for at least 30 mins and the whole 30 minute of the walk is counted towards the active minutes.

do i have to restart/reboot my watch?

See Active Minutes .

Active minutes are different from "exercise" time.  Active minutes require a certain level of intensity, as measured by calorie burn rate from heart rate, maintained for at least 10 minutes continuously.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
