Hello, I would like to have the face stay black unless I press the button. How do I do this?

Turn off 'Screen Wake'.  Hold in left button a few seconds.  Look for 'Screen Wake'.  Tap to toggle off or on.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
