is the versa 2 truely swim proof and do i have to pay subscription?

because last summer i had to have mine replaced because it was water damaged after i went swimming with it and i had issues with it til i got the replacement, i want something thats swim proof and wasnt sure if this was swim proof as it states it will be, want to know what i am getting into before i buy also do i have to pay for a subscription just to use this upgrade?

The Versa 2 has the same level of water resistance as the original Versa. See: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1598/

 

So, it should be fine with swimming but if there is an issue then, like before, it will be covered by the warranty.

 

You can use the Versa 2 without taking out a premium subscription and you only need a subscription if you want some of the features it offers. Have a look at the recent press release for the premium service to get a feel for what's on offer: press release

I also have same question and unfortunately didn't go through the community and looks like it isn't.Mine started behaving strange post i used this once in a pool(Max 6 feet depth).Now am waiting for my replacement as it was under warranty but am scared to use now in water.
