Hi, I have a 1 year old Versa 3. Whenever I cut the lawn or push a shopping cart, my watch registers the activity as riding a bicycle. Is there a way to add exercises so that the watch can differentiate between cutting the lawn and/or pushing a shopping cart at the supermarket?

Hi @Gerryco - generally pushing a shopping cart is not really an exercise, unless you are a high speed shopper!, and if you get an exercise registered you can simply delete it.
Mowing the lawn can cause vibrations to register all sorts of things which aren't real so again it's best to delete it.
Neither may measure steps accurately either because the arm movements aren't the same as when walking normally.

I turned auto detect off for this reason, My Fitbits were always auto detecting grass cutting as bike ride as well. I just manually start workouts.

Thanks Guy_,
if you have a deskjob for work, pushing a grocery cart and mowing the lawn can be exercise, especially when you are shopping at Costco (dodging other patrons and lifting heavier product cases in and out of the cart), or trying to cut the lawn before the rain. 🙂
I never thought of the vibration from lawnmower, but I now suspect it might also affect heart rate too. Also now suspect that pushing a cart through a rough parking lot would also have vibrations that could affect step counts and heart rate.
Both your reply and MarkMM's reply are both very helpful, but they did not answer my question.
Q. - I am wondering if it is possible to add exercises (ie. one for cutting lawn, the other for grocery shopping) to my Versa 3, so that I can manually select those two so that I can keep track of the "inaccurate steps" taken during those activities?
Thanks
