I miss my Blaze!! This upgrade to Versa for the swim feature is so disappointing! Versa is not calculating my mileage correctly after a month of use and continuous troubleshooting. Even too it back to where I purchased it thinking the devise was the problem...still get the same readings with no help from anyone! Apparently I have the stride length of a 2 year old!! I have yet to hit 5 miles on this thing. And a flight of stairs WOW, I have to climb to the moon to reach my 10 flight goal. Would not recommend Versa AT ALL! What I would love is if someone could fix this nonsense or at least have some sort of reasoning behind this inaccuracy! Losing faith in Fitbit.

Hello @A-N-G

Sometimes a restart or a factory reset helps glitches.

Go to Settings On the Versa (little gear icon). Choose "About" then scroll down to "Factory Reset." (See the User Guide, page 66.)

Tried that on the first one I bought and returned to the store. Have not on the 2nd one. Don't think it is necessary honestly. Only had it a week. Anything else? Please?

If you only had it a week, let the GPS figure out your stride length

The Fitbit uses your steps along with GPS during your walks and runs to calculate stride length. It will take several of these GPS events to get what is close to normal for you.

Don't sweat the small stuff and it's all small stuff.:)

Thanks so much for your replies. I have the stride length set on Automatic for the past couple days. I have used the exercise shortcuts to connect to GPS as well. I just find it frustrating that I never had these issues with the Blaze, and I really want to love this Versa as much as I did the Blaze. Do you know if GPS is connected continuously or just when using the shortcuts?

@A-N-G  The GPS only connects when using an exercise shortcut or MobileRun (starting a run/walk/hike from the app).

The app will only calculate your running stride length -- when the feature is toggled ON.  It will not calculate a walking stride length.

Also, check your profile settings.  Once I started getting really wacky readings.  My height got mysteriously changed to 1' 4".

Thank you for your reply! That is exactly what I thought concerning the Auto stride being on. Runs only not walks. The last conversation I had with Fitbit phone support they told me it calculates walks as well. It says right in the advance settings "running stride length". I also checked my personal settings, it is correct 5'6". Today still without using a walk or run shortcuts it is just over 3000 step to hit a mile! Two years with my Blaze I was about 2260.
