new Versa - firmware update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

i bought a new Versa yesterday. The app keeps asking for a firmware update. I tried the process over the Blue tooth and also Wifi. At one point it just gets stuck and the firmware does not update.

I am unable to use the device.

Welcome to the club. 🙄

Is it a Versa Lite? Because that's a known issue. There are some tips on doing it on a Win10 computer, but it seems like a 50/50 chance of it working. Fitbit just sent me a replacement that they SWORE would work.... but it does not. So if I were you, I'd fight until I have a refund.

I am having the exact same issue with my Samsung S10+. I have tried wifi, bluetooth and I now have it plugged into my computer, but that doesn't even seem to be a option for updating the darn thing! I would like to use this new device...that I researched but didn't see anything about this updating issue until AFTER I spent HOURS trying to set it up!

Hello,

I had the same issue when I first bought Versa 2 a few days ago. The resolution was to:

  • Turn off all Bluetooth devices connected to your watch.
  • Make sure all Fitbit apps (windows or android) are closed.
  • Restart your watch by holding the left button until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.
  • Turn on Bluetooth of mobile (much better than Windows 10 app).
  • Launch the Fitbit app and try the update again,

I hope it helps. Windows 10 app always fails to update the watch as the BT connection can not be alive for long (don't know why unlike BT headsets that can be connected for hours).
