Hi @Rahul_01, welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry for my delayed response.

Thanks for the information provided, and I'm sorry that the notifications are now not working on your Fitbit device. Let's work on this together. First of all, let me share that if your phone is running Android 8.0+,you’ll receive a Fitbit Sync Service notification on your phone to let you know you that the Fitbit app is running in the background, even if you close the Fitbit app. To hide this notification, please do the following:

  1. Press and hold the notification.
  2. Turn off the notification.
  3. Tap Done. The Fitbit app continues to run in the background, but you won’t be notified.

Now, regarding the notifications, please make sure the Fitbit app and your Versa are updated to the latest version. Also, hold the left button on your device to verify that the notifications are turned on. If the issue persists, try removing your Versa from the Bluetooth settings and setup the notifications one more time.

Keep me posted.

Hi Lizzy, I've done all of this since last evening. I'm also on one plus and not getting any notifications. Getting the error that I need to restart my phone. Im seeing the forums and see that this is a chronic issue.

I just bought the versa lite yesterday and this is very frustrating.

Quite amazing that this is a company that is doing 1 billion+ in revenue with such a shoddy product and an even worse customer support.

Hy,

is there an Eta for a software update?

i tried every solution found on discussion topics about this "notification service not running" issue.

i also use a Oneplus 6 phone( with Ionic watch now), which worked well at notifications with my previous watch( xiaomi).

it seems to me that somewhere is a bug in the app,and any solution given is just a temporary fix.

after a few hours the problem comes back.

thanks.

I had the same issues and I have found that by having the sound on (it's as low as it can go) the notifications come through as normal. However if the phone is on silent or vibrate they do not work! Hope this helps some of you.

I am also facing the notification service not running issue on my ionic. Reading the Fitbit forums, it doesn't look like there has been an update to this. I've had problems with my Fitbit from day 1- transferring music is such a pain, the straps are not easy to get(India) and on top of that the entire experience of having an expensive smartwatch ! A big disaster in my opinion.

My first fitbit was a versa lite, which I handed over to my wife and I bought a Versa 2. Same issues with notifications on both with my Oneplus 6.

About 5 days ago, I dug up a post which threw some light on how to get the notifications activated, especially on a one plus. Since I'm unable to locate that original content, I am paraphrasing to the best of my memory: One Plus devices have some serious battery saving optimisations built in. Hence, it's all about going and making a small change in the settings of your device. I did exactly that, and since then, I've been getting notifications (so much, that i've had to enable the 'do not disturb' on the versa now and then). Now here is the step by step guide to what helped me;

1. I uninstalled the app first and then reinstalled it (you can also open settings, apps and notifications, choose fitbit, open storage and cache and clear storage)

2. Then re-login, into the app and connect the device with your phone via the fitbit app

3. Go to settings on your phone, select 'apps and notifications', select 'app info' and then select the fitbit app in the list of apps on your phone

4.  Select Advanced and then select Battery Optimization

5. In all probability, 'intelligent control' or 'optimise' will be pre-selected.

6. Change it to 'Don't Optimise'

7. Voila! You are done!!!

PS: Don't forget to enable notifications on the fitbit app.
