I'm new to Versa. I also don't understand why the food tile will say I can eat x more calories, then the next tile registers that I'm over calories !!@!!

@YogaLite Because they show the calorie capture at different point in time. The tile that says you have X calories left refers to your daily estimated calorie intake vs expenditure, based either on:

  • your average daily expenditure for the last several days (i.e. personalized)
  • the type of the lifestyle (i.e. sedentary)

Please go to https://www.fitbit.com/foods/log and set the preferences under Food Plan (tap on the gear cog icon):

The second information you're referring to, presents you with the snapshot at this exact point in time, meaning Fitbit takes your current calorie burn and compares to what you have eaten so far. So if your calorie expenditure was lower than predicted based on your settings (sedentary or personalized) and at the same time your calories in were higher, you will see you're over budget. Again, this is only for this particular point in time. If this confuses you and you tend to run over budget, I suggest choosing sedentary setting. Personalized assumes you will maintain similar level of activity.
