"Versa Update Available" message won't go away.

My phone is showing that "Versa Update Available" each time I open the app.  Specifically, it is showing a firmware update is available for the versa. The "Version" on the watch is showing 32.72.1.15 and the Versa will sync with the phone and app.

I have attempted multiple times to install the update via the app, no change.  I have rebooted the phone as well as the app.  The Watch shows it's up to date, the app won't make the banner go away long-term.  These steps have been done with the watch in the charging cradle as well as out of it.

Thanks!

Hi @RaleighGuy  - have you also tried

in your Android phone Settings *

  • Apps
  • Fitbit
  • Storage - clear cache [not data]
  • Force Fitbit Stop

[though it doesn't seem to fully]

Log back in to the Fitbit app

*Quick Shortcut: Press and hold the Fitbit launch icon, then App info [on some phones]

I just attempted your suggestion without a successful improvement.  I did NOT clear the data, just the cache, should I?  Also, if I uninstall the app on the phone will I lose all of my data or with it remain in the cloud?  I've also been accessing my data from the fitbit desktop online as well, I'd think the data wouldn't be totally lost.

Thanks for your help!

@RaleighGuy  - clearing the cache, not the data is all that is required normally.

All synced data from the watch is stored on the Fitbit servers so that won't be lost.

What may be complicating things is being logged in on 2 devices -

  • try logout of desktop and phone.
  • then login to the Fitbit App on the phone only.
  • Go to the phone home screen without closing the App
  • Click on the sync popup to pair and link the watch
  • make sure it is syncing properly to the phone, by pulling down on the screen and wait for the sync to complete.

You can try uninstalling the Fitbit App but you will need to redo the notification and any special setups again. It may require a simpler resolution.

Probably best to contact Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you.

Also reachable via the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Help & Support, Contact Customer Support.

Your Versa is not up to the latest of 1.19

I would clear cache. Stop the app. Restart phone. Restart 'Versa and try again.

The update pushed to the versa within 12-24 hours of making the post.  I also know that around this time I cycled the wifi off on my phone though I'm fairly certain it was on to start with.  Wifi might have been related to my issue.  The fitbit is now up to date.  Thanks for the responses.
