My Versa somehow started to tell the wrong time.
I reset it to Mountain time.
Now the time is correct but the home screen says "this app requires the "internet" permission to be granted.
I found where the permission was granted but nothing.
Logged out then back in with internet permission granted and still the red "X" is on the screen instead of my clock face?

I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since it's showing an "X" on the home screen. Please restart your Versa as described in this help article. This will refresh your watch internally. After this, try changing the clock face to one developed by Fitbit, not a third party clock face and see if the issue gets fixed.
