tapping the watch face no longer shows my statistics

Suddenly tapping the watch face does not show my stats.  It only shows the steps stats, but is not recording steps.  The phone app and website are working fine

You say it is not recording steps.  Do you really mean it is not recording them, or just that it is not showing them.  If they show up on phone app, then they are being recorded.

If that is the case, you might try switching to a different clock face.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

They are being recorded. They show up on my watch when I swipe up from the watch face, on the phone app, and on the website, but not when I tap the watch face. I've tried the resetting and turning the watch off without success

As I said, that sounds like a problem with the clock face you are using and can probably be fixed by switching to a different clock face.

Clock faces not developed by Fitbit, sometimes develop such problems.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
