trouble setting up just to record my daily steps

I have just bought a Versa and im having a great deal of trouble setting up it up just to record my steps

Hello @Arci1 and a warm welcome.  First, please make sure that your phone is on the list of compatible smartphones/tablets .

Where does the setup stop?  Please be very specific.

How do i record my steps as I walk ? does it do it automatically?

@Arci1   Your Versa just plain counts your steps, just by putting one foo tin front of the other.  If you want to record a walk as exercise, you can do it one of two ways.  Your Versa has SmartTrack, a feature that recognizes several activities, including walking.  It has a default setting of 15 minutes before it will record the walk.  The other way is to use the Exercise app and select Walk as your exercise.
