Just happened to me too. So much for the Versa 2 being waterproof. Purchased back in July 2020, I've swam with it before with no issues until yesterday. Also during all that time I've had it, I would take it off before showering, so it should not have been affected by any weird chemicals. I did notice after swimming yesterday, when I pressed the back of the unit, water would be leaking out of the back, between the seams of the body and the sensor.
Contact support and you should be able to get a warranty replacement if your unit is within the warranty period. Unfortunately for my out of warranty unit, I was just offered a discount for a new device. Why can't these things last more that 2 years?

My boyfriend and I just had the exact same issue with our Versa 3 and Sense respectively (on the same day, both watches 🥲). Of course, just out of the 2 years warranty period for both of us... I agree with you, 2 years is definitely not ok.
Good to know that, at least, we might get a discount for another one (or two). Thanks for the input !
