versa 2 not showing the transfer music button when trying to add music

ok so I know a lot of people are having trouble transferring music to their watch but I seem to be hitting a different snag when following the instructions. I am sat next to the router, using a MacBook.

 

I have downloaded the desktop connect app, I have triple checked that all devices are on the same wifi network and the watch is connected to the laptop via charging cable. On the laptop I select manage my music then i go onto the watch and select the personal music app but it is not giving me a "transfer music" option. Instead it says "pair your phone in your settings app, under bluetooth". The watch is already paired fine with my phone as it syncs etc and I have played around with the bluetooth watch app settings to no avail. also tried re-setting the watch and doing the whole process with the bluetooth on on the laptop and phone and off on the laptop and phone.

 

At this point I don't know what else to try, pretty gutted as I have just bought some wireless headphones to use with it but if I can't get it to work then I have wasted money.
