versa 2 (x2 fobs) became unresponsive

I have had 2 Fitbit Versa 2 Fobs in the last 2 1/2 years

According to terms if item is purchased in EEA area then the warranty is 2 years not 1.

I had my first Versa 2 for just under one year before it became unresponsive - Touchscreen frozen and wouldn't respond. Customer Services at that time were great (pre-Google Take Over)and arranged for me to be sent a new one.

Fast forward just over one year and the second one started doing the same thing except this one kept randomly jumping screens and vibrating on my arm.

Again spoke to Customer services (Post-Google Take Over) and this time not so great - was advised that my versa 2 was outside warranty but personally don't think it was as it was issued in Germany which is EEA and it should be a 2 year warranty which would expire in January 2024. Anyway they told I would receive and email in regard to being offered a discount in order to purchase a new device - STILL WAITING

I have sent 3 emails to them to find out where this so called discount is and still get no response.

Is it just me or does anyone else feels that since Google took over the Customer Services are worse?

I personally think that Google put a virus into an update to crash the device as i am not the only one who has had issues with it being unresponsive recently

Hi, @RosieD67 you can find the terms of the warranty at the bottom of each page here in the Community.  According to the terms the two year warranty applies if you purchased your Fitbit in the EEA and also reside in an EEA country.

Also once you have had a replacement under warranty, that replacement is warranted for 90 days.  This is a very common limitation of warranties - same thing happened to me with a television in the UK - first one was replaced and the second one was defective but I didn’t take it back within 90 days so I couldn’t get another even though it had been less than 2 years since the purchase of the original television…. So customer service has probably correctly advised you in this case.

They don’t have to offer you a discount on a new product, but I think they usually do, so it is worth checking back with them on that!
