versa 3 widgets disppeared

When I reset the device, the widgets re-appear for a moment, then either disappear or are not manageable (ie I can't turn on GPS, or anything else).I tried changing clock faces as well, and have the same result.

Even better.  Now it says it can't find my Samsung Galaxy s9, although the phone is synching with it even as it says this.
