versa won't stay synced with app

My Versa will not stay connected to the app.  EVERY time i want to access the app, I see that it has not synced for at least a day.  I restart the phone, I restart the bluetooth, and I re-boot the Versa,  and then I wait while it takes forever (IF it eventually works) to re-connect.  and yes, I have the All Day Sync turned on.  I have now been trying for 4 hours to get them connected.  The other problem I noticed, my clock was 5 minutes slow,  and now it is randomly 2 hours fast.   The watch won't let me fix the time, so I have to do it through the app or the dashboard, which I cannot connect too, so I now have a competely useless piece of plastic on my arm that doesn't even tell the correct time.

Samsung Galaxy S7.  Android 8.0.0.  I just double checked, it was last updated 12/19/18 and there are no other updates available.   I have the Versa. (Firmware 32.33.1.30).   FItbit app version 2.84

I have been able to fix the time issue, and that now appears correct.  I am still having issues keeping it synced.

I just got my versa yesterday and I am also having the problems of keeping it synced to the app. I also have restarted my phone and versa. Neither have helped. I have the galaxy S9, it's up to date, my fitbit app is update as well.

My Versa last synced on Monday evening.  I have wifi and Bluetooth turned on .  No matter how many times I try, it won't sync   I haven't changed any settings.

Hi, what you all can try to do is this:

1. Check the status of the Versa's BT, should be on.

2. Go to your phone and the Fitbit app

3. Disable BT and WiFi

4. Deinstall Fitbit app (do not unpair your Versa, leave as it is)

5. Restart you phone ans enable BT and WiFi

6. Reinstall Fitbit app and your Versa should still be there.

7. Press on Fitbit's dashboard screen the watch icon on top of the screen on the right side

8. Scroll down to directly underneath  the Manual and Accesoires tiles and press the sync icon.

9. Enable continuous syncing.

Hopefully they will connect now. Mind though that when you're out of BT reach, the Versa will not stay connected, only when you get back within the BT range and, sometimes, it's still necessary to do point 7 manually.

I got my versa yesterday and after the initial setup it hasn't stayed synced and it won't sync again. I also have the all-day sync on and the widget option that I think is supposed to help with that, and my phone is up to date as well. Everything says it's connected as it should be but my versa won't sync with the Fitbit app.

Hi, besides the suggestions I did in my earlier post, you can try to restart your Versa by pressing and holding the left and right lower buttons untill you see the Fitbit logo and release the buttons. Sometimes you have to do that more than once. If that's not solve your syncing problem, try the suggestions above. What's the use of having a Versa that will not sync with Fitbit.

I am having this same issue on my LG V20, Android version 8.0.0. I have a Versa, Firmware 32.33.1.30 and Fitbit app version 2.84. It synced at 6:00 this morning and now I can't get it to connect. I have restarted my Bluetooth, restarted my Versa, restarted my phone, and nothing works.

I have the same problem. I didn't have the app on my phone but on my desktop (both at home and at work). For a period of time, no problems. Then the battery would suddenly go through the power and I'd no longer be sync'd. I was able to somehow get it to re-sync for a few weeks and now again, no sync. I ended up removing the device and was able to connect at home last night.

Today, can't get it to sync at work. So I was able to load the fitbit app on my phone and I can't get it to sync. It says it needs the recharging cradle to do so. I'll try it when I get home tonight but I'm really starting to not like this.

I had the clip-on fitbit and they kept on not working so I was hesitant to get the Versa. When it works, it's great. But this intermittent working/not syncing is crap!

@meggiedarlin @amziegert You can try this:

  1. Unpair (remove) Versa from your phone's bluetooth settings
  2. Uninstall the Fitbit mobile app
  3. Reboot your phone and install Fitbit mobile app. Do not pair in your phone's bluetooth settings
  4. Reboot your Versa by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes
  5. Login to Fitbit mobile app
  6. Grant all permissions and sync.

The trick here is to not pair in phone Bluetooth settings but rather let the Fitbit mobile app do that.

Additional tips if sync issues persist: If you have Wifi set up, go to Fitbit mobile app and remove it, then sync your Versa. I noticed that it causes issues for me. If you have other Bluetooth devices paired with your phone, forget them. One of them might be causing issues. Also, make sure All day sync is enabled. If you're on Android, make sure Always Connected and Keep Alive Widget are ON too and that Fitbit mobile app is not being optimized by Android (Go to your phone Android Settings>Battery>Optimization and turn it off for Fitbit).

Over the past day and a half, I've tried all the suggestions listed here & I've found a simpler solution that's worked for me. I have to keep the Fitbit app open all the time, and if I accidentally close it I just go into my phone settings under Bluetooth and unpair the versa, then turn the wifi and Bluetooth off and on. Then I open the Fitbit app again and hit sync, and let it re-pair and sync.  that's worked well for me so hopefully it will help someone else!

I had to unsync my previous fitbit that I had. Since I have done this I have no problem with my versa staying synced with the app.

I have the Versa and a Samsung 7 as well. Mine will not sync until I put on BT and Location (which is weird, but it works).  I turn off the location after it syncs--don't need the world to know my location all the time.

but how many times do you have to do this?

I rebooted, uninstalled once already today.

I have been trying to get this thing set up since Monday - it is Friday.

I just have to put on location and BT each time I want to sync my data.

Are there log files I can access somewhere on the phone or the watch?

I've been doing these "voodoo dances" for a while (shutdown this, then that, do it three times, click your heels and face North while holding down the left button.) None of it works. It syncs and receives notifications for a while, then stops for a while (while = several days.) I've tried it with a G6 and a Nexus 5X.

Show me log files so I can see what's wrong.

Because I'm at the point of concluding that the Versa product is defective.

I am just another Versa user. I have no log files. You will have to talk to someone at Fitbit
