just bought my versa through best buy, long story short they told me to wait a day to make sure i like the watch then go back to purchase a warranty, i went back the next day and they said there is no warrenty to purchase it only comes with a 14 day warranty through them. Can i buy an extended warranty through fit bit?

Fitbit only offer an extended warranty when you buy from their US online store and it's only available when you buy the fitbit.
You will be eligible for the standard warranty though which runs for 12 months from purchase (or 24 months for those in Europe)

My Versa display stopped working all of a sudden since yesterday. Bought in Mar 2019 in Germany and as per your response, I assume I'm still under 24 months. Is this issue covered under warranty for a free repair or replacement? How to I proceed further?
