I have had my Versa for about a month now and was diligent about taking it off for showering and water related activities despite it being advertised as 'waterproof' up to 50 meters. While splashing in the water yesterday on a 90+ degree day I neglected to remove the watch. It seemed to be tolerating the water just fine. A couple of hours later when I attempted to check the time - the device was completely dead. I have been in touch with customer service who had me do all sorts of things in attempt to revive the very dead Versa but it still remains very dead. I placed it in a bowl of rice overnight (old cell phone trick) but even with that there is no sign of life. I submitted a video of my attempt to 'factory reset' the device and now am waiting for a response. Lesson learned here folks, VERSA IS NOT WATERPROOF!! From what I gathered, they will assess the video I sent and then provide me with further instruction on how to proceed. All that said, I believe I will be without my watch for a couple of weeks at a minimum. Pretty disappointed in Fitbit at the moment.

Mine just took on water. The seal around the screen must have went. They wont replace it because its a couple months past warranty. Bs. I paid 250 for this thing and now its a paper weight. I remember when they used to have amazing customer service. I wont buy another fitbit. They just lost a customer who has been with them for years. So angry

Yep. They swear they are "waterproof" but they are definitely NOT. They need to at least admit that as it seems lots have had the same issues. It happened to me twice within a 2 year period. Enough time for the replacement to not be under warranty.
Update:
Was literally on the phone with Fitbit Customer service today and I don't know if the rep was misinformed, but he kept correcting me when I claimed they weren't even water resistant. He said, "Mam, they are waterproof." I was like ok....that doesn't make the fact that I've had 2 fitbit versa lites die after swimming with them once each.
yep happened to me too!! I feel they should replace them even if out of warranty when it comes to these water issues. Seems like they very falsely advertised. I should have learned after the first one died from water exposure one time. I didn't expose the replacement to water til yesterday and now it's dead and has water under the sensors.

Apparantly!!! They need to stand by their products and replace them even if out of warranty. I'm sure they are fully aware of it if they are a company with any ethics that tracks these sorts of things. Even vehicle manufacturers will recall their products when they realize they are faulty regardless of warranty status. Fitbit should do the same if they want to keep their customers coming back and trusting the brand. Products should live up to their promises. Had I not taken mine to the water park (didn't even do a lot of actual swimming), I would still have a working tracker. But I trusted Fitbit when they said they were good up to 50 meters. If they want my trust back, they will stand by their product. Otherwise, I will never trust another tracker to be waterproof or whatever they claim it to withstand.

I actually really liked mine until the water issue..Theu should not have a swim app or say it is waterproof without replacing if they stop working.
Update:
The big problem is that this is still an ongoing issue.

They just deleted one of my comments for “multi posting”. So much for transparency and allowing customers a voice.
