It's because you burn calories at rest, not just when you exercise. Therefore when you wake up in the morning, it shows calories used between midnight and when you wake up. Hope this helps

@katherinekan "i am not wearing the watch . for 2 days . the Calorie count is still there. . how to reset the count" --- Your watch will add calories at your so-called Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) when there is no activity, f.e. while asleep, or indeed when the watch is not in use. Per definition it has to, and you cannot stop it or reset it. So it is doing the right thing. I am not sure why you want to reset it?

@katherinekan, the response from @lenny4d is correct. Your Fitbit counts calories burned based on BMR at all times, even when not on your wrist.
