wifi firmware update failure (Resolved: 7/8)

hello, I bought a new Fitbit versa today, downloaded the app and walked through the instructions. I got through most of it then it asked to update the watch and it is saying 'wifi firmware update failure' I have tried resetting the watch and my phone and its still not working do you have any idea what could be wrong ?

I'm happy to report that this incident with firmware updates failing was resolved yesterday evening. If you haven't already, please try setting up/firmware updating your devices again.

Hi, I have just bought the Fitbit today and am having the same problems!! Did yours get resolved?

I am having the same issue. I receive my Fitbit today and the firmware won't update on my Fitbit.

I think they are having some sort of issue. I just received my Fitbit Versa and the firmware won't update through wifi or bluetooth and I have seen others post of the same thing.

I have the same problem as kelsaestuart below. Brand new versa arrived to day and during set up all fine until it gets to download update and I get a green tick then a Red Cross followed by a green tick on the screen then WiFi firmware update failure. Any help would be so appreciated. It’s so frustrating. Thanks!

I bought mine today and have the same issue. Tried contacting tech support, they are aware of the situation and apparently working on it!

Thanks for your reply update, so it sounds like a Fitbit system error. I wonder how long it will take for them to correct this. Do we hold on to our new purchases or return it. I’ve been reading some different threads about. Someone took there’s back to the shop and got another which worked fine and was set up in 20 minutes! Unfortunately I purchased mine directly from Fitbit online.

I saw that thread it looks like he got his replacement before this happened. I got mine from BestBuy and it was delivered today. I'm going to keep mine and see what happens before I ask for a replacement. I'm just anxious because I want to use it! 😞

They said to wait until the end of the day and try again! I'd say give them a call tomorrow if nothing changes. I've got a 90 day return from where I bought it but hoping that I don't need to return it.

I was chatting with customer service and they are having problems with the service.. I asked if it would take hours or days to fix and he said he couldn’t say!! If it’s not working by tomorrow I’m bringing it back

Yes frustrating, I've tried every piece of trouble shooting I can find on fitbit website, almost 4 hours and nothing works. I'm waiting to give their tech support a call tomorrow and see if they can assist from their end.

I'm in the UK. I don't want to return mine I waited 2 weeks for it to be delivered and now this.... I just want it working

Then it's beyond the end of your day! They probably are in California.. so frustrating!

I live in the US. Just purchased my versa last night and have been trying to do the update all afternoon. It will not work with wifi or regular data and I have restarted my bluetooth, phone, and versa, un-pairing all other devices. Literally nothing is working. Relieved it is not only me as all my other Fitbits in the past have never  had this problem.

I just received an app update from Fitbit a few minutes ago. this may be the app update to set up our Fitbits.
