So I would like to be able to create a custom workout for interval training that gives me one minute rest and one minute active and set a repeat and send this to my phone. I don't even seem to be able to do this with a run in the app on the public preview version, but I can with the regular version of the app. As a temporary workaround, I've been switching to the regular version of the app creating an interval run training session with the number of repeats I want and sending it to my watch and then I get alerts every minute to start and to stop but this logs it as a run and what I'm doing is a circuit training. With how slow features are coming for this public preview and how incomplete it is, If you want people to pay for it it should do a lot more than it's currently doing. It almost feels like there's maybe one guy in a basement working on this. Maybe you should get him a subscription to Claude code. I'm a little sorry for the sarcasm, but this is a very frustrating app to use. Once my free trial is up there would have to be huge improvements for me to actually pay

I don't want my phone...that's why I bought the Pixel Watch. I want a run workout created that I can access on my watch while I am running.
Running without a phone in my hand is a thing here where I live. We buy Coros, Apple, Garmin, Polar, and yes Fitbit/Google Pixel watches (like little tiny phones) so we can do a custom workout, with all it's detail, with a fitness watch on our wrist.
This Coach has to create something fitness related and send it to my Fitbit/Google Pixel Watch so I can do the activity without my phone in my hand.

The latest release blog says:
"We’re excited to bring you the latest features and improvements in version 4.68 of the Public Preview. "
I want a simple running structured workout from the coach on my Pixel Watch 3. Can someone confirm what this means?
If the coach says: Warm up :10, run at tempo for :30, cool down for :10. Will this get sync'd to my watch and on my watch I can click it and have it guide me through these steps on my run? Does Google's "Guided workouts with Step-by-step Execution" mean a simple structured running workout on my watch?

Can't you already do this in the normal non ai version ? Also I think 2.68 is only on apple as my version is currently only 2.67 on my pixel. In another post they sent me a link to an update that would fix the problems I was having and it was the apple store and 2.68. This was almost a month ago.

4.68 landed for my Android phone yesterday 4/24.
Yes, on this regular version I can manually create a structured run workout and have it on my watch.
In the preview coach makes a specific detail run, and it accessible on the watch. Carry the phone with the app, or manually reconstruct these runs every day.
Neither are acceptable.
Coach makes a run, sync, go out with the watch and do the run. Simple....make it happen Google/Fitbit

I just went back to "Preview" and got the following. Totally unacceptable. You must make the AI structured workout, then put it on my device. You are asking me to hunt and peck to manually create this structured workout that AI just made for me? No.
Back to Garmin for running until Fitbit can BOTH generate a structured workout and let me perform it using my device.

How to Set Up Your Guided Wednesday Workout
To get step-by-step execution on your watch, you will first need to create the workout in the Fitbit app on your phone:
1.Create the Workout: In the Fitbit app, go to the Exercise section and look for the option to create a Custom Run or Structured Workout.
2. Input Your Intervals: Add the specific segments for your Wednesday session:
•Warm-up: 10 minutes.
•Work Intervals: 6 x 800m (or set a time duration like 3:40).
•Rest Intervals: 2 minutes of walking/jogging.
•Cool-down: 5–10 minutes.
3. Sync to Watch: Once saved, these workouts typically sync automatically to your Pixel Watch 3.

I asked how I can go back and forth between the coach chat detailed specifics and the fitbit create custom run part of the Fitbit app. It said I couldn't....i should create the custom structured workout manually on a Pixel Watch itself.
Type a detailed structured workout with one finger on a watchface? Are you high?

With a goal of running a 5k, the coach says it will help me train. Cool.
It suggests a workout each day....let's call it Daily Suggested Workout, or DSW.
Coach suggests a multi-step structured running DSW, it asks me to manual create this as a custom run on the watch or the app. My Garmin had been providing DSW for a couple of years now.
If Coach suggests a structured running work, let me click "do this workout" on my Pixel Watch 3 and go do the run. Why ask me to go elsewhere into build custom run, type this all in, each and every day? Unacceptable.

lol here's what Gemini recomends, fitbit app doesn't even make the list
Choose Runna if you want a "set it and forget it" professional plan with a high-quality watch interface.
Choose Nike Run Club if you want a completely free experience with excellent audio coaching.
Choose Stryd if you are a competitive runner focusing on precision metrics and power-based training.

Or, use a Garmin until this is resolved.
BTW: I got tricky and asked the AI Coach why it could not provide a custom structured run workout on my Pixel Watch 3, it replied that it is in a sandbox outside of Fitbit Exercise and only acts as an external guide. ( Okay, change that. Have it inside the app so it is practical and useful)

I think it was gaslighting you. It can set a custom weight training workout without too much issue. My equipment changes whether I'm at home or gym or traveling. I can tell what's available and it will adjust. I quit using it though because once a week It would say it made a change and it wouldn't and I would have to explain all over again. I can make my own work outs with less effort.

Yes, gaslighting.
It said it made a custom running workout. I asked it to add a five minute warmup to the new custom run. The AI Coach said "Yes, done, go check it out" but there was nothing changed about the stock suggested workouts.
I've seen evidence that it can make changes, but I'm not certain if or when it does create or edit existing custom structured run workouts.
