I purchased the Versa 4 in part for the 3rd party apps. I had to replace an old fitbit that was past its prime. I did not realize until later that the 3rd party apps are not available. Now I am loking into other technology and will no longer be a part of the Fitbit community. I am sad as the product is great, but the management is bad. Worse news is that I have a Pixel and love it, but if they are making poor decisiions for there large customer base in one area, it makes me worry. My next phone upgrade will probably move away from the Google platform.
Please restore ability to install Mindful app (and others). That was the only way to record a non-fitbit meditation session and have it appear in the Mindfulness section of the fitbit app. If you can't restore the app, then add the ability to do what the Mindful app did! After upgrading I was very disappointed to have that functionality removed. Thank you.
Hi, same story as everybody else, just "upgraded" to the Versa 4 from my Versa 2. So disappointed that I cannot add any third party apps to my device!! This is NOT an upgrade, it is a downgrade!! Going to return, so disappointed that this is not better, but worse! And you don't make the Versa 2 anymore to replace my old Versa 2 with. I WAS excited to get my new Versa 4, but now I'm just so MAD!
This is interesting. I was listening to Spotify on my Pixel and I looked down and the was the Spotify control on my Versa 4 and it allowed me to forward to tthe next song and back. So apparently the App is still somewhere embedded in the device, but you just cannot add it. I tried it 3 times and it worked, but it has the come from spotify playing and the Versa 4 mirroring the phone notification.
I received today a Sense 2 thinking it'd allow for 3rd party apps. I'm extremely disappointed, first on myself for assuming it would allow them and second on the company for removing this feature, this is no longer a Smartwatch, this is just a really expensive square shaped Fitness Band.
I just asked for a full refund. This, the removal of the webapp and many other questionable choices with the phone app is making me debate if I should continue supporting the brand after 6 years.
My Sense and Versa 2 just died (used both for me and my wife), so now I run to learn about the latest Fitbit... Unfortunately that came as a waste of time as I had some 2rd party apps I'm using on both of them, which I'll be unable to use on the Sense 2 or Versa 4.
Now I'll look to get another Sense or versa 3 which still support 3rd party apps. In the future if that changes I'll do the upgrade...., till then I'll use the older models until they're gone forever.
Fitbit, Google, do make sensible changes please. Bring back the options thousands of customers use for their daily tasks. That's really a downgrade.
As this page reaches an anniversary when it was created when those of us got the Sense now 2 years ago. Nothing has been done. Nothing has changed and it feels as though nothing will change as it is.
Maybe emails directly to the CEO at this point might help if enough of us shout it might get noticed more than by admins on this forum
The watch could be more practical on the wrist and used for so much more. Instead we seem to all still have a glorified tracker and not as advertised a smart watch.
I wish that I'd researched my Versa 4 purchase a bit more. I wrongly assumed that third party apps could be added. I don't want to have to pay for YouTube music when I have Spotify. I have seen hundreds of people saying the same over the last couple of years and empty replies saying that popular requests will be considered. How long do you consider an acceptable time to let people know when it's been considered?
How has this still not been updated? It's been 2 years since the last update? Please update so I can use secondary apps. I'll have to return otherwise.
Hey, I just got a Fitbit Versa 2, but I'm a bit disappointed that it can only install YouTube music. I've been reading comments from 2 years ago, and it seems like Fitbit hasn't listened to its users. I want to be able to install Spotify and other apps, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. I might have to switch to another wearable device that gives me more options. I'm not really tied to Fitbit, and if they're not going to give me what I want, I'll just move on.
I just purchased a Versa 4 on the understanding that it would be compatible with 3rd party apps. My aim was to use my Spotify Premium account to support me to exercise without having to carry my phone. What a waste of money! Should have just bought a cheap fitness tracker. Planning to return it if I can, now the packaging is opened.
I'm extremely disappointed that I can no longer access Spotify from my watch. Something I loved about using my versa 2 at the gym. I upgraded to versa 4 but now it feels like I took a step back and was bamboozled. Pretty unethical to advertise it as an upgrade when taking so much away.
So 2 and a half years later, and still not a single blip from fitbit/google about this?
This is the single most disappointing product I have *ever* purchased!
Well, at least now it is possible to buy a decent android wear watch with 4-5 days of battery life. Obviously not from google/fitbit, who only have 20 hours of battery life!!
My Versa 4 has officially stopped working. It will no longer hold a charge. Never had this happen before with a smart watch. Did multiple resets & nothing.
My Versa 3 just died so I was sadly forced to get the Versa 4 with the knowledge that there are still NO third-party apps available. WTH??? Such a downgrade to not have Starbucks and the ability to control Spotify from my watch. I am so disappointed and so unhappy with this. Please give us the option to use third party apps that are available on the other watches. Not cool! I can't believe this hasn't been addressed. It's been at least 3 years? Come on, do better and give the people what they want. Makes no sense why third-party apps would be removed when the "new" version is supposed to be an upgrade. I also miss the flashlight app. 😞
Stop making this smart watch dumb. Acknowledge your paying customers and fix this glaring mistake. 2,500 votes and hundreds of comments are significant enough to be addressed.
If the customer is more than a piggy bank to Fitbit - ACKNOWLEDGE AND FIX THIS.
I will return my new versa 4 if this issue is not addressed within a timely manner.
I think we can be sure that we will NEVER get third party apps on the Versa 4 and Sense 2 watches. We've only been complaining about it since they came out.
I have a lot of complaints about the Sense 2 (previous a Versa 2). Sense 2 has quite some features, but basic features I used on my Versa 2 are still missing. Like calendar app or a barcode app. Probably because they are 3rd party apps. Almost 2 years now. I got my 3rd Sense 2 now, because when I complain, they react like there’s an issue with my device and offer me a new one. Things like connection lost, notifications disappear or old ones appear again. And everytime I ask the customer service how they feel about de complaints of customers on the community, their roadmap, development. Nothing, only “Ow I’m sorry to hear that, maybe there’s a problem with your device and we can send you a new one”. No refund possible (of course), because it’s too late. I want to give them a chance. Be honest about the development, the future of the devices. Give the community and users some transparency. What is possible in the (near) future? Wat can we expect? They keep their mouth shut.
I want to be able to control Spotify like I was able to on my old one! So disappointed! If my old one had not died I would never have bought this knowing that I can't control my music when I run! Bring 3rd party apps.
So ive also had a versa 2 for years and got the four recently what do you mean it does less ????? How can it be the "newer" "improved" version while offering far less ?? I can only use theh pre installed apps on the device. And even then it won't let me use all of them ? All the thibgs it's is advertised as doing that the older models don't do can't be used and everything the old one does (apps ) are just unavailable?? It says it does youtube music and Google maps specifically that the older modles didn't do and those are also incompatible with the four ... it feels like a child locked version of the 2 so disappointing
