I bought the versa 4 from Currys in the UK, because it states in the information that it supports Spotify, only after using the watch, have I realised it doesn't support it at all. I won't be able to get a refund, because I have had the watch over the time for a return/refund.
You should have called as soon as you realized the Versa was not as advertised. Suggest you call and tell them the product is not as presented and you would like to return for a full refund.
I genuinely can't believe that this feature hasn't been added. It was the primary reason I chose this watch over others as it's advertised to be able to do this. FALSE ADVERTISING is so frustrating and the replies from mods on this forum are trash. "We will discuss it if this thread gains popularity" Jesus Christ there have been so many threads about this topic that there should already be a plan in place with development. This is a basic feature for Pete's sake.
Bought the versa 4 on the advertising that it's a smart watch... there's nothing smart about it? Insane they've stopped third party apps, it's literally just a very overpriced fitness tracker with hr? I had the same features on my £70 fitbit 10 years ago! I can't return the fitbit as VERY policy states once set up you can't return... wondering if anyone's had luck saying it's falsely advertised ?
Bring back 3rd party apps to Versa 4!!! I'm debating purchasing this item but not having access to apps like Spotify is a big negative. Will you bring back Spofity in an update?
Hi @lcbm - there is no indication of apps becoming available and the watch has no built-in music features either (unlike previous models which do). Fitbit has removed on board music from all watches so that is the direction they are going.
You need to look at other brands for full music support and if you want long battery life have a look at Garmin.
And the Versa 4 battery is not much better than the previous version. So, on the bright side we will be able to buy the Apple watch soon. Nice job Google! Fitbit is dead.
I spoke to someone at Fitbit help, and the person assured me that Spotify, is available for the versa 4, after looking at it all again, the install button isn't lit up, so obviously it isn't available. They won't do anything like authorise an exchange at Currys, which the lady at Currys said they might. And because it wasn't bought from the Fitbit website, I am stuck with the useless watch.
Guess I'll keep my Original FitBit Sense a bit longer, until they come to their senses. I've had my share of good for a day at best watches, which is why I refuse to go Pixel Watch at this point. If they can get a Pixel to reliably go 4-5 days between charges, I'll consider it, but until then, not happening.
I'll either buy another Sense (Original) if this one should give up the ghost, or perhaps look at Garmin, which has some heavy hitters in the smart-watches geared towards fitness tracking. Sadly the ones I like are rather expensive, although charging once a month or so sure is appealing. (Wouldn't mind one of their solar offerings, with the Sapphire lens, although rather pricey). Requirement #2 is is needs to sync with either MyDietDaily or MyFitnessPal, which right now is an issue with my Fitbit Sense, and not sure who to blame, but the sync ability was lost earlier this year, even though I'm a premium member.
Fitbit is well and truly dead if they don't fix 3rd party apps and Spotify/music control immediately.
I haven't used my sense 2 in weeks.
It doesn't do anything more than the cheap trackers now, stopped using it after i heard they were heart rate and sleep tracking problems with the new update. Its like they have a bunch of clowns running the place since google took over.
Where the hell is support for third-party apps? Media and owners roasted you for the lack of support for them. Where is the support for them? Will it be coming? Are you willng to change it? The watches have so much potential, it's ruined by this stupid policy of yours.
I was happy with using Versa 3 as it had the option for additional apps, but it's ruined in Versa 4. What is wrong with Fitbit? Not to mention, the Fitbit app is recomending to check out the apps from gallery... which is another punch to the gut.
If Google thinks this is the way to get folks to switch over to their Pixel devices, they are wrong. Less health functionality and only a 24 hr battery...and higher cost to top if off. Smart folks will pass. Unfortunately there is no longer a single good option for smartwatches in the Fitbit store. Time to start shopping elsewhere. It is so sad when a company buys out a great solid company and then proceeds to run them into the ground.
Agreed..it’s very sad! Fit bit really was something amazing and had been headed in the right direction until Google bought them! I’ve Checked out all the other smart watches and Garmin is the best . They offer a huge selection of true smart watches with a ton of advanced features including extensive health and fitness tracking! Sent from my iPhone
Ahhh…understand. Sad. Business history is full with many other stories of companies demise…often based on poor decisions by uniformed “genius” and other times because of a higher plan (faulty) to force customers to another product they have interest in…rarely these type decisions are made by “owners” as it is their own $…to the brand manager/other they are only numbers on a piece of paper.
I just received my Sense 2 as a gift and was looking forward to developing my own faces. Now I see that fitbit is killing the 3rd-party dev scene, I will leave 👎negative reviews everywhere I can to warn potential clients.
Sorely disappointed there are no 3rd party apps on the Sense2. This is by far NOT an upgrade to my 4 yr old Versa 2. Will reconsider FitBit after having been a loyal user for 8+ years. Functionality is poor considering other options now available.
