Ability to change Bluetooth name of Fitbit device

Currently the Fitbit iphone ios app does NOT allow you to change the name of the device, When you have 2 kids each with their own Ace 2 device, and you set them up under Parent/Kids function on the app, they both show up in Bluetooth directory as "Ace 2". Should be able to rename them (eg. "Ace 2 Kid 1" and "Ace 2 Kid 2").

In Android, this is done on the phones Bluetooth management page, and is independent of fitbit.

In this day and age (Sept 2021) We should NOT be having to investigate how to change a name on a Bluetooth device and we definitely should NOT be told we can't! What the hell. Next time I can I will be switching to an iWatch. How hard would it be for their support group to make this change? I have many bluetooth devices and want to rename the all in an order that suits me.

I don't know how iOS works, but to change the BT name in Android, you would go into the list of. BT devices and change it through the operating system.

Try this. Apparently the name change is made through the iOS not fitbit.

Maybe it is true that Fitbit hasn't enabled this feature.

Sorry for the bold, I have posted a screen shot, did not mean to yell.

This is so basic, and the fact that FitBit is not interested in making this EASY change is a reflection of their completely self-serving values as a corporation (GREED). FitBit Corp (purchased by Google for $2.1B who can and will track your entire existence) does not care a lick about customer feedback or the environment for that matter as evidenced by their dismissiveness, their fragile, faulty products, and technological inefficiency (come on - a different charging cord for each band?). Look at the BBB website. Complaint after complaint. I don’t understand why they are not interested in actual growth. This is a cool product! Why not make it work BETTER?

Allow changing of the name broadcast by the watch via Bluetooth. Having the standard name of the watch shown allows those you may not wish to know exactly what watch you are wearing and what apps to use to try to access it.
