Ability to change daily goals without changing all past days

We should be able to change our goals without changing all of our past goals.
For example, on holiday break I was happy to lower my goal to 5,000 steps. Or converter, some days I want to do more and want to up my goal to 15,000 or even 20,000...but then It changes all the past days.

I like this idea, but not just for weekends/weekdays, but specific days of the week or calendar days.  This way someone who is training could set specific training and rest days.

Changing any goals should NOTaffect any previous data/goals.

This should apply for any/all info (weight goal, activity calories in Trainer, etc.)

Changed my weight goal (from 500 deficit to 750).

Also changed my Activity calories (in Trainer) down by 200.

This change the calories by 450.

When I view the Dashboard for previous days where I had actually met my goals, it now shows I was over in calories consumed.

I was so disappointed to figure this out today. Completely brought me down to see that my work seemed to disappear. Please fix this soon.

Yep I totally agree. It's such a shame it hasn't been set up that way from the beginning. After all, the more trackers get used the fitter people get, so increasing goals is a natural progression. It's really disheartening to see those Green buildings turn Red. Hopefully Fitbit can address this oddity promptly.

I'm a new Fitbit Flex user and just upped my step, mile, and very active minute goals. But now when I look back through my old accomplishments, it indicates (orange or yellow) that I did not achieve my goals. So when my step goals went from 12,000 to 14,000, all the days where I had more than 12,000 steps but less than 14,000 steps show up as not reaching a goal...even thought I reached my goal at the time. Is there a way to have the dashboard/phone app track how we did relative to what the goals were at the time? And not evaluate past accomplishments relative to new goals?

I love the idea of being able to have different goals on different days. I have one day a week for resting and I always feel compelled to hit my goal even though that kind of flies in the face of "resting." I'm a very goal-oriented kind of girl. ;D

I agree whole heartedly. I really was excited to use my Fitbit to hit mini goals and work up to goals that seemed really daunting. Then I changed them, and almost all of my goals that I hit disappered. SADNESS! Smiley Sad

It would also help to see how often you are hitting your goals, like a percentage of time, and maybe a suggestion when you keep missing a goal, to re-evaluate.

Yes I also have one or two rest days a week, or sometimes I do exercise that isn't steps or cardio, like swimming or yoga.  I feel like I get yelled at for not moving enough when I'm either moving in ways fitbit doesn't track, or resting, which contrary to what a lot of people belive is very important to fitness and health so your body doesn't break down, especially the more active you get.

I would like each day to be treated individually.  My high step days are M, W, F whereas my strength training days are the other days.

This is huge. I want to be able to increase my step goal as I become more active, but on the flip side I REALLY don't want to lose my current streak. I have 17 days straight meeting my step goal, but if I increase it almost half of those will no longer "meet" my goal, even though they met the goal that I had defined on those days.

If you give us graphs of step goals and such, please make those graphs actually MEAN something. It's hardly meaningful to see the historical data when the presentation makes it look like you never met your step goal until "recently", even though you may have increased your goal slowly over time.

Definitely agree - very dispiriting to find all your past achieved goals are now missed goals when you increase your new goal limit. Also like the idea of being able to set different goals on different days.

I agree - what goals you met in the past should not be affected if you change your current goal.  You should also be able to set different goals for different days.  I currently have mine set to a paltry 3k steps since I spend most of my week sitting at a desk at work without the opportunity to get up and move around.  I am much more active on the weekend and would like to set my goal higher on my days off.

It would be helpful if there was an option to set a different step goals for the weekend. It would be particularly useful for us weekend wariors that have desk jobs during the week.

I totally agree, I would love to see this feature. Hopefully it happens sometime very soon.

I'd love to be able to set goals fully day by day.

What I want is to ramp up the distance goal over the week and interchange with days of lower activity. Then reset for the new week. Similar to how you build up distance when training for a marathon.

I think it would be really beneficial to be able to set varied goals for different days of the week. For people who work M-F, it would be nice yo lower the step goal for days we are stuck in a cubicle, and then give ourselves a challenging goal on the weekend. I am running into having either unattainable goals during the workweek, or excessively easy goals on the weekend.

I agree with you... I'd love to see this feature added.

Yes, yes, yes - want to be able to set different goals for different days - especially weekdays and weekends.
