Ability to change daily goals without changing all past days

We should be able to change our goals without changing all of our past goals.
For example, on holiday break I was happy to lower my goal to 5,000 steps. Or converter, some days I want to do more and want to up my goal to 15,000 or even 20,000...but then It changes all the past days.

Yes. I was just going to suggest these features too-  weekly step goal and customized daily goals.

As I see this post is 3 years old, and I've been through a ton of Fitbits, that cost money, methinks they dgaf abt what the customers who have been with them from the beginning think (this is my second acct. I wanted to start over from scratch for new goals) Sucks we can drop half a house payment on their equipment but the few strokes of a keyboard and a system update can't be done for us.

I'm sure there is still a lot of interest in this idea.  My working days are so different from my off days that I have separate step goals for myself on them, but there is no way to track my success in the app.

I love this. I only work part time so I have different opportunities for getting steps in depending on the day.

Absolutely!!!  I came here to make the exact same suggestion as I experienced the same thing. When you change any goal it should not be applied retroactively to your past stats and achievements. It should only apply going forward from that point.

It would be great to set a daily goal instead of a weekly goal. If I know a day that I am not going to be as active, I would change my step goal to match the day, then bump it up or down the following days. Currently, if I set a goal of 5,000 and hit it, then set and hit goal next day of 10,000..then it no longer shows the previous day as goal met. Please consider adding a feature to help solve this dilemma.

I been itching for this update. My weekends typically are 5k more than the weekday. Customized days would allow me to set realistic challenges every day instead of on some days.

I decided to raise my daily step goal from 10,000 to 15,000.  When I did that, it retroactively changed my previous days' daily step goal.  That was discouraging because it made it look like I hadn't reached my goals those previous days. Please make it to were the user can update a goal from one point forward.  Do not retroactively update old goals with present/future goals.  It really is terrible the way updating goals works now.

I was logging in to make the same suggestion!  I worked hard to reach my goals and it encourages me to keep moving forward. Having the previous goals deleted is disheartening.

I agree 10X. I struggle with weekends and would love to be able to have different goals for different days, other fitness gadgets do. Just saying.

This is a duplicate request.  Always do a search before creating a request -- that avoids splitting the vote.  Here is the main thread making this request: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Ability-to-change-goals-per-day-without-changing...

You might want to add your vote there, where it is likely to have more impact.

Please remeber it is very important to do a search and add your botes to an existing request rather than create a new request only to have the votes restarted at zero.

I am more active during the week and would like to lower my step goals on the weekends.  I may stop wearing my FITBIT BLAZE on the weekends or wear a different monitor.  I hope FITBIT can address this issue without needing to purchase a new FITBIT.

I never wanted to be part of the forum. I only wanted to have a feature updated. Customer service said I had to post the suggestion on the forum. If it's a duplicate, then merge the tallies together. I got the Fitbit for fitness. Not to spend more time on an app/internet/forum.

I agree with many of the statements here.

I have weekday goals and weekend goals.

Otherwise I tend to overdo it and I don't get the recover time.

Just to add to the conversation, I would love this feature as well. Adding a button labeled "Weekend" on the "Activity Goals" page would be a start. Hopefully this idea gets implemented.

I agree. I want to increase my hourly steps, but I don't want to lose my previous success marks. Please update.

I Agree that something like this would be very beneficial.

I don't really have the 'weekends vs work week' issue, but I am working up to doing 10 miles per day, and I've been increasing my goal every couple of weeks once I can routinely do a smaller amount (started at 6 miles).

The problem I'm having is that it shows that I was 'under goal' for all the days prior to my new goal.

Being able to set specific goals per day or even have a 'new goal' where stats count towards it until changed again will be a very useful tool.

This seems like a feature that should have been implemented from day 1. Considering that Fitbit themselves has an article about the importance of rest days.

But I've seen 3 threads open since 2014  I'm doubtful they're listening. Despite the 1000+ votes.

MAKE ALL GOALS DAILY/Allow all future goal changes without affecting the goals achieved/starred prior to the change.

Also so allow us to select which days we reach which goal. (This will allow for rest days and days to make goal more challenging than others).

Defiantly need this. I've been saying it for years. I like having my weekday goals 10k, that's fine and doable since I work retail. But on the weekends when I can finally get off my feet I tend to only want to do half that, or atleast get half it. While I know I've personally may have reached my own personal goal, it would be nice if my Fitbit could reflect that too. I'm sure others with hectic random weekdays off for their day offs or rest days for workouts would befit from this option also. Nothing like feeling "step shamed" when it's your only chance to take a day or two to rest or be less active.

I've been slowly increasing my step goals as I progress, and I've noticed that when I change a goal, it changes for all my past days as well. This sometimes means that while I did meet my goal on past days, it suddenly changes it to show I didn't. I suggest you change the system so that past goals are locked down, and new goals only affect present and future results.

I agree! I haven't changed my weight loss goal in over a year for exactly this reason! So when it says "Xlbs lost since Jun 1" in the app, it's not even the most recent June...
