Ability to customize the stats/apps on Inspire series

There are several functions that I do not need or want and there is currently no way to turn them off. I would normally just ignore them but my FitBit has this annoying habit of just randomly switching to something it thinks I want, when I have done nothing. It's as bad as driving a car and when you stop at a light, the car decides you want to park so it opens the door for you. I want to control my screen, what it shows, and when it shows it. Currently I can do none of this.

completely agree with post. I had Alta for 3 years and just got the inspire HR. the customization should be simple to implement for Fitbit. I will return my inspire HR unless customization is possible. For example, I should be able to choose what I see in the stats heavy clock face. how is this not possible already? really disappointed.

I agree. It makes the watch almost pointless because I don’t want to scroll thru everything just to get to what I need. Calories and weight is still triggering for me, and I can edit it all out of the app but not the watch?

I agree - everyone’s physical and mental health is different, things like counting calories can be helpful to some and harmful to others. If the purpose of Fitbit is to optimize our health, then having control over what features are shown is essential.

In previous fitbits, I had been able to adjust what I saw on my clock screen and could get rid of things that didn't matter to me (stairs, for example). But there isn't a way to do that on the Inspire HR. For people with disordered eating issues who still want to be healthy, it's hard having your weight and calories burned coming up on your watch. I also have chronic illnesses that make it hard for me to engage in the same fitness as non chronically ill people. For that reason I have my app and online dashboard set to include HR, steps, water, sleep, minutes active, and exercise. But everything else is either irrelevant or not healthy for me to look at. I'd like to be able to get rid of my weight and calories burned on my clock face like in previous fitbits so I can focus on my personal health goals.

I would definitely like to be able to change the order of icons to suit my needs. Everyone has different things they want to focus on so that would make it more personable. Also, while I like having all icons available to scroll through, I can understand why others want to "hide" certain ones. So my vote is to allow hiding of icons and to also allow custom order.

I'm finding it completely ridiculous that the last update found it more important to turn the home screen into a cat rather than address this problem. It makes it worse that past fitbits had the screen customization feature, so the programming has to still be there.

I agree that it would be helpful to delete items you don’t want or change the order. I replaced my Charge 2 with inspire HR and I’m very disappointed that some of the features are not available on the Inspire. I am most interested in the 250 steps per hour and it’s a pain to have to scroll thru so many icons to see how many steps I’ve done for each hour. I would like to reorder the icons to put that feature first.  Better yet - it would be nice to have that stat on a clock face.

Had a I known I could not change the display, I would never have purchased this Fitbit. Most of the displays are useless to me. I want steps and heartbeat and weather. I want it to buzz when I get a text message. None of these things occurs. Going straight back to Amazon. Sorry, Fitbit.  Sticking with my Garmin.

nj2nh,

I don't know why your Inspire HR isn't buzzing you when you get texts. If you have text notifications turned on in your settings then something's wrong with your Fitbit. Maybe you could let them know.

The fact that I cannot have the display I wanted is more annoying. I am returning the thing today. I really wanted a Fitbit that could go from wrist to clip, but not being able to change the display means it goes back.

Yep, please let us customize which categories are on the watch face! I also do not want to think about weight when I use my device as it's not good for my mental health.

yes that is very annoying. If I don't want a specific tile on the app, why I should want it on the fitbit screen?

I don't usually 'do' forums, but I have to vent my spleen about the lack of ability to modify the stats I have to scroll through on the Inspire HR. I have been with Fitbit since the 'One' and on all of the other Fitbit trackers I've owned (Alta, Charge HR, Charge 2) you could hide the screens you don't want to see. For me it's Weight, Water, Calories, Resting HR. As others have said, this 'new' model is a big step backward in that respect. True, it has lots of other new good features, but this seems like a 'one setup fits all' policy which is not what I've been used to from Fitbit.

Such a pity, I was hoping for good things from this newer model...

Agreed as well. I moved from a charge 2 and find this missing feature as a big mark against this device. It is a big disappointment and may force me to return the inspire for something else.

I am also disappointed that I can't choose our order the apps on the inspire hr. I do not want my cycle tracking on there and I imagine a lot of women would agree. I also do not use the water intake or weight. In general I just want to keep things clean and efficient. I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to remove those apps because I was able to make changes on my charge 2. Please update this! I did vote too. Thank you!

Strongly support this idea! I really don't want to see calories burned on my wrist.

I am not interested in seeing my weight (I know it) and 0 ml drink and would like to remove these icons from the Fitbit.

I just got my first Fitbit  to help track recovery from an illness and am about to return it because it is the opposite of healthy for me to see weight and calories burned on my wrist every time I try to use the other functions.  Allowing users to remove certain function screens is such an obvious feature it didn't occur to me that the Inspire HR wouldn't have it. Sounds like older models did... People have been raising this issue for months and it doesn't seem like Fitbit is planning to fix it so I'm out. Super disappointing. Not a satisfied customer.

Weight and calories aren't even accurate! Does it weigh you when you are wearing it? No, it relies on some other device to provide this information. Calories also relies on external information to do its calculations, and who knows how accurate that information is. I love my inspire HR, but agree with all the other posters that it would be much better to be able to at least reorganize the stats. If I can't remove a stat, at least I'd like to move it to the end of the list and move the ones I want most to the top.

I just recieved the Inspire today after my Alta HR was broken. Very disappointed to see that I can't hide things I don't want to see in my watch, like drinking water or my weight. I could hide this on my old Alta, but not on this new Inspire? Feels a bit strange... Hope this option will come very soon!

I would like to echo all sentiments expressed previously. My Inspire HR will be returned if this feature is not fixed. I had this feature on my previous Fitbit and that is why I chose Fitbit for my next tracker. I am really disappointed in the lack of customizability in the screen. It seems like Fitbit no longer cares about the individual consumer’s Fitness goals.

I would really like to be able to choose what stats I see on my fit bit and put them in an order that best suits my goals. I loved this feature on my alta hr and I do not understand why it was removed. It was useful to have my heart rate after the clock. Please bring it back.
