Ability to customize the stats/apps on Inspire series

There are several functions that I do not need or want and there is currently no way to turn them off. I would normally just ignore them but my FitBit has this annoying habit of just randomly switching to something it thinks I want, when I have done nothing. It's as bad as driving a car and when you stop at a light, the car decides you want to park so it opens the door for you. I want to control my screen, what it shows, and when it shows it. Currently I can do none of this.

Fitbit is inconsiderate of people who have severe trauma surrounding the discussion of calories and weight. Please show your consciousness about this by allowing those features to be removed from home screens. Someone may just want to track steps but not their weight or calories. If Fitbit deciders will do some research about how talk of weight and calories can trigger some people, they would quickly allow users to tailor the information they want to see on their watch. Why can't it be a simple as just showing steps?

Thank you for considering this matter and I expect the right decision to be made with every possible user in mind.

I would love having the option to customize either the stats available in scrolling on the Inspire HR, or in the order that those stats show up. Not everyone wants to see their heart rate, resting heart rate, calories, distance, GPS, etc, in that order. Being able to choose the most common ones used (for me, I would have the time as the main screen, like I currently have it, and steps as the first scroll option, as it is currently, but then I would have the next option being my hourly activity challenge, as that is the thing I will check the most often during the day). Currently, I have to scroll 7 times any time I want to check the hourly challenge, which means I can't easily check it at work, and makes it more likely that I will miss an hour of the goal. Also, many people don't use the fitbit to track calories, so having that as one of the top options seems weird.

Would like either the option to customize which stats show on the watch face, or a watch face that shows the time, date, steps, and hourly challenge. I don't ever use the calories, and would rather see the hourly challenge updates than the distance walked. And I need to be able to see the date displayed for at work.

Hi again @kKoira! Great suggestion, thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.

”A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.”

What constitutes “soon”? This has been frequently requested for months.

Also, it's not like this is a wouldn't-this-be-cool feature.  This is a what-the-hell-is-this oversight. Surely this is taken into consideration when deciding what to update. Every day, I'm grumbling over this issue.

quite clear that Fitbit doesnt care about its users. Well, 2 billion in the bag from Google so who cares what happens to dissatisfied customers of a mid-range product right? Poor poor poor showing.

What do the Moderators do apart from post faux sanguine messages? Will be dissuading everyone from buying a Fitbit.

Adding my voice to the long list over several months!  I only want to see step, heart rate, miles & minutes of activity on my watch.   I'd like to remove the rest & only view them in my dashboard on the app.  Please consider adding the ability to customize what is displayed on the watch.

Me too. Needs customization and inspire hr needs to be able to used on a clip.

Definitely needs to be customizable, we should be able to turn off the ones we don't want (weight, calories, water, cycle - which isn't even correct).  We also should be able to add customizable work outs to the Exercise app!

It would be great if the inspire hr had option to select what stats you see on the tracker. There are only a few stats i want to see. Thanks

I just got my Inspire HR yesterday.  I've been using a One for almost 7 years and it's started to become unreliable.  I loved its simple functionality - always defaulted to showing # steps; which is the most important function to me ... when you think about it, most other stats are based on that number.

I was stunned to find that the Inspire HR makes it so difficult to read # steps.  I'm using the Stats Heavy clock face, which I'm OK with in theory; however, the stats are in such a small font that I can't read it without my glasses.  If I could just choose to omit one of the other 3 stats and have a larger font for the rest, I'd be pretty happy.  I understand that calories burned is a sensitive issue for many people and I would certainly be happy to have it removed, also.

I was pleased to find that, while that the Inspire HR isn't necessarily attractive on my very small wrist, it's more comfortable than I expected. I don't like to wear bracelets and I've adapted fairly well.

I'm on the verge of returning this unit but I'm going to give it a try.  While I think it's a no-brainer that I should always be able to read # steps easily, the reality is that when I need to see it the most is probably when I'm sitting down at a desk, with my reading glasses on.  And yes, I can use the app on my phone --but, for me, the point of a fitness tracker is to help motivate me to spend more time being active and less time using electronics.

Please, Fitbit, help us love our Inspire HRs.  Just a little customization ability would go a long, long way.  Thank you!

Was really hoping if I scrolled to the end of these comments I'd see one that said this had been resolved already but alas...

I agree with everyone. I'd love to be able to hide certain stats and to be able to rearrange their order as I scroll. I like seeing how I'm doing with my 250 steps an hour stat, but I feel like I have to scroll forever to get to it.

I just bought the Inspire HR yesterday because it had a sale. So disappointed how we can't customize what shows on our fitbit or at least re-order the tiles! I wouldn't mind if we could at least move the tiles around so I can push the ones I don't want to see furthest away.... I simply don't have to swipe that far in order to not see them. Seeing how it's a feature on other fitbits and not this.... Why on earth did you guys remove this feature?!

This is ridiculous! It has been 8 months and we have received no word on whether or not this is even in consideration. This suggestion has received 474 votes and 7 pages of comments (as of writing). Clearly, this is an important issue.

This isn't just about convenience. This is about doing what is ethically right. Some of the features are genuinely problematic and can be toxic to many users. Fitbit should be morally obligated to make these changes.

This capability was on many of the previous devices and it does not make sense that it was taken away. If you aren't going to make any changes, at least inform us why not and include the information on the product page. I am beyond furious about this.

The fact that there are two separate threads asking for the same thing with hundreds of votes mean this feature needs to be implemented.

I just looked through the entire "Under Consideration" forum and there are suggestions which are being considered that have no votes or comments. People have been asking for this capability for over 8 months and we have heard nothing but, "thank you for your suggestion. Let's see what the community has to say about it" from the moderators. It feels as though they are blowing us off.

This capability has been on so many of the previous models, including the Alta and Alta HR which the Inspire is supposed to replace. We should be able to choose what statistics we wish to see and in what order we want to see them, just like we could on older Fitbit models. It does not make sense that the newest, upgraded model would lose such a useful and necessary feature.

There is a moral and ethical reason for implementing this feature, as well. There are statistics that can be harmful and toxic to many users, such a weight and calories. Those with eating disorders can be triggered and even relapse by seeing these constant reminders. For people with anxiety and/or depression, seeing these constant reminders can be disheartening and even debilitating.

Fitbit's silence on this matter is beyond infuriating. Especially when you consider this is the second most requested feature for the Inspire on the forums. Clearly, this is important and something must be done about it. Fitbit, do the right thing and make these changes.

Made a community account JUST to upvote this and leave a comment. Such simple capability with zero action on FitBit's part. Hopefully after the Google acquisition, the OS is going to improve in all aspects. It's obvious that FitBit hasn't put enough thought into their website, products, or user interaction. Cheering for you Google!

This request to date has nearly 500 votes, and nearly 200 related comments.  What will it take to elicit a positive response from Fitbit?

Please allow the users to decide for themselves what is most relevant to their own fitness, and to order (or eliminate) scrolling tiles as they desire!

The last update was 6 months ago

As mentioned the number of posts is not small

From a customer perspective we have seen no action other than new clock faces

Clearly nothing is happening

So should we vote on on continuing customer loyalty?

The only reason I didn’t return this Model is that I need the waterproof feature.

Is Fitbit going to update us on the status of this request? I just "upgraded" from my Alta HR and disconnected it, and was going to get rid of all the junk I don't need to see on my wrist, and discovered that's not an option. Can we stop getting canned answers and get an explanation? Thanks.

It seems that posting here is about as effective as saying, "Hey, Inspire, show me how many steps I've done today." 🤣

Give us the ability to rearrange the order of the widgets! My older Fitbit has this ability. Frustrating

Would sure love to have the ability to remove certain stats that I don't need to see on my wrist and, even more importantly, rearrange their order.
