It would be great if we were able to turn off/disable the vibration on the automatic goal notification. It can be quite startling. My heart just about stops almost everytime it happens.
I understand you can just not set silent alarms, however the device still vibrates when you reach a goal.
There should be a on/off switch in the setting in order to enable the user to stop all vibration of the device, for those that don't like the vibration of the device.
I agree, I often get a fright too which would be a worry if I was carrying a pot of hot water or something at the time. I would like to option to turn it off.
I would like to have the ability to turn the vibration function off. It seems that this is a pretty big drain on the battery, and with me recording my exercise it vibrates at least twice a day. I would still be able to see if the exercise was recording/stopping by the stopwatch and flag symbols on the watch and be able to save my battery for what really matters.
Oh, yes please! I just got my Charge HR a few weeks ago. I like the little celebration on the screen, but I don't like the buzz. I don't want to change my goal to something crazy, I just don't need the buzz. (Or would like it to be much more subtle.)
I thought I was crazy since I couldn't find a way to turn this off... I was so surprised to find it's not yet a feature!
The vibration is so uncomfortable. It really freaks me out! Nothing like being in front of a class of kids, taking a step towards the blackboard, and BZZZ-- the teacher looks like she just got an electric shock! Its funny for the kids at least 🙂 But not so funny for me...
I also would like to be able to disable the goal notification feature. I often achieve my goal while I'm running, and it's annoying and distracting to not know when the buzzer will go off during the run.
Please give an option to disable the goal-reached notification. I currently have it 'disabled' by setting the main goal to Distance, and the goal distance set very high. I'd rather keep all of my goals set to reasonable values, and just notice on my own whether I've reached them. The first few days with my fit bit, the goal-reached notification was very startling - for example I was handling an electric fence gate at the time and thought I was being shocked! Most adults don't need the celebration on a daily basis about reaching the goal...
I need to be able to receive silent notifications during work and meetings, but the buzzing is so startling and audible that ugly have to take the watch off , even for movies or dinner events. Should be easy to select turn off vibrate from settings control. It is potentially startling and distracting and interferes with sleep when it suddenly buzzes at night. I cannot imagine is isn't possible, but somehow this was designed without the ability to turn off the **ahem** buzzing!! Bad design. I may return mine for this reason and opt for an Apple Watch since that can be easily silenced including turning off vibrate mode.
Love my Charge HR, hate the vibrate notification. It is too strong and causes me to jump because you never know when it's coming. Not good when using woodworking machines.
I fully agree. The vibration is unexpected, uncomfortable, startling and unpleasant.
I realise that some people love it — each to his own! — but for the rest of us, especially those with heart or other health problems (the very reason why I have a Fitbit), please give us an option to completely disable vibration.
I agree with all the others on this. Please have the option to turn off the vibrate notification when you have reached your goal. I should be brought up as a safety issue. When handling things it startles you and may cause accidents.
I would definitely love the feature to turn off vibrations for everything. I am often in important meetings all day and can't have my wrist vibrating whenever I get a text, but I would like to subletly see my watch light up and alert me in that way. Please get this in the next firmware update!
I would like to echo the request to be able to turn off the vibration for goal notification. This can be startling and even dangerous. I should not have to set my step goals to an unreachable value in order to prevent the vibration from happening as that would undermine the point of setting goals.
Could you provide some insight into if turning off vibrations is on the road map?
And add one more person who find it annyoing. Or, startling rather. I about jump out of my skin when I hit the goal on my Charge HR.
I'm considering doing the thing that others recommend and jumping the goal up to a huge number, but that, of course, means the dashboard is useless for the stat.
I wish to disable the vibration feature as it consumes battery. Too often I complete my steps mountain hiking in remote area and the vibration drains battery. No convenient place to charge Fitbit battery. I would prefer an app or email alert instead of the wristband depleting precious battery power when I reach 10000 steps.
